Thats a good idea, thanks. I've got a boot kit for it that hides the tank, spare wheel and the rear bulkhead, so they would cover it quite nicely, thanks! :D

got a little maintenance to do on the Kia, front discs and pads, and a service, oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter. Booked friday off work, so 1 - 1.5 hours to do the kia, then rest of the day to do the mini :xmas:

Might borrow the engine crane from work to take the engine out on friday. I'll probably finish the boot off, coat the battery box in that tetra stuff you gave me  and try and drill that hole bigger in the rear bin, so I can feed the last couple of wires through and build the boot boards back up, and reconnect the speakers/sub to the amps. That will be another big step for me, to get all that lot working again. As you know, I'm not one for big sound systems, but the sound quality was immense, and I'm not big into weight saving, (yet lol).

Might give the rear seats a quick flick over with a spray can, to cover the bit of bare metal.

I can then start to put the carpets back in, and the seats!!

Fair bit done at the weekend. Nothing on Sat, as I was at Japfest, great show as always.
Did manage to pick up a manual boost controller from one of the show stands

Finally enlarged the holes in the drivers rear bin to route the wires through, out of sight.

Posted Image

Then fitted one of the front seats back in. Also carpets back in.

Posted Image

Dashboard back in, speakers all back in place (except door speakers), all speakers now working and sounding lovely :)

Posted Image

This is the only visabe wire, which will be covered by the door cards once refitted

Posted Image

Here are the megajolt bits i picked up off ebay, just need a quick clean

Posted Image

Just a general shot down the side of the car (on axle stands at the front)

Posted Image

and lastly, a horrible hole found in the sill / floor :D

Unfortunately it does.

Not good to find holes, but rather now than when its being MOT'd.

Finished work a bit later than expected, I was back for 4pm, with the engine hoist and a few tools in the boot.

Sucked the oil out of the dipstick hole with a special vaccum pump tool from work because I haven't got anything small enough to fit under the sump.

Then removed the engine and gave it a quick clean. No pics today though, but I'll get some tomorrow. :)

Also nearly broke my leg when the engine crane fell over and landed on my legs lol :)

Also won an intercooler on ebay off a renault 21 turbo. I was the only bidder, so got myself a bargain :)
Looks like it should be a good fit either behind the grille or behind the bonnet with holes cut out. measures 600mm total length, so should fit nicely :D

Intercooler arrived on friday, its in really good condition, so I've started to clean it up. Autosol wouldn't clean it very well as the core is pitted on the top and bottom, so I used some wet and dry of various different grades to sand it back, and its come up really well. Followed by a pollish with autosol and its looking really well. I'll post up some before and after pics when I get time.

Cut up the Saab intercooler pipe into 3 different peices to route the pipes around the servo and over the thermostat housing. Some custom brackets are needed to mount the intercooler, but the position I decided is behind the bonnet offset to the left hand side. Holes will need to be cut out of the bonnet to allow descent airflow through the cooler, so a normal number plate will be needed on the front valance.

I also removed the timing cover to find duplex timing gear, which is a good thing as it was part of the engine build from morspeed.

Not much done other than that, because I went racing again on saturday.
Pics to follow.
