Saw this for sale on the bay...
Thought it would save some time and money trying to bodge together some pipework useing what I've already got and trying to get some silicon joining hoses made up to suit... as this one has pipes with it for a mini.

so here it is lol...




How convenient, from one mini to another


Yep, its from a sierra RS Cosworth, and its lots bigger than the Renault one I've already got.


And it came with a box full of spare pipes and joining pipes. Might need to use some of these to route around the servo, as it was previously fitted to a mini without a servo...

Also bought a few more bits I need to convert to the turbo setup.
Hopefully should arrive in around a week or two when he is back in the UK and able to post them

Also stripped the diff off the gearbox, and built up the x pin. Its ready to go back on now, just waiting for the gaskets to arrive.

Had a play with the intercooler tonight.

After a few different attempts this is the best I could pluck up...



The only issue is the pipe over the servo sits high and makes the bonnet sit higher than I'd liked. Its going to be raised anyway, so with a bit more adjustment I should get away with it

Also this black pipe came with the cooler which is usefull... Obviously what the previous owner used it for.

A minispares order came through today

An additional stabiliser for the radiator side of the block that goes back onto the subframe.





Going to change the heater hose setup. Going to put a T off the head and run it into the car so its constantly circulating all the time. Should help keep it a bit cooler...

Yeah its a fairly commom intercooler used for minis, I paid a bit over the odds, but should be worth it

A little bit of an update from Sunday.

I fitted a new section of brake pipe, that joins the two front brakes together.
One of the unions was corroded badly and started to round off, so I decided to replace it.

I fitted the pipe and left it drip bleeding while I was doing other things. I pressurised the brakes and found one of the copper washers leaking where the pipe connects to the caliper. I'll need to take the pipe off and clean up the caliper more to get a better seal.

Other than that, not a lot done really.

New engine mounts came through the post though.



Also checked my headgasket before fitting and found its one of the faulty batch from belgium.

I put the diff back on the box, just waiting for the side cover gaskets to arrive.

Thanks for dropping the pipe bender off mate . Same engine mounts as ratty but his are Yellow,
are you fitting solid rear mounts to the front subby ?? I have (made my own) , stiffens the subby up

Yes, solid subby mountings already fitted by the previous owner, along with polybushed arms etc.

Trying to fit as many stabilisers as possible, dont want it rocking about.

I've got these, my engine seems too sit a teeny bit higher with them. Maybe due to old ones sagging, im not sure. Also a little tip, put some sort of lubricant on them when fitting the pin, makes it a little easier.
