First of all I'd like to thank Charlie for organising the TMF club stand. One of the best we've had in a while I think! Thanks to all the TMFers who turned up and stayed with the club, me and Rach had a great time with you all!

In my opinion it was a great show. I think the turn out was always going to be big because of nature of the event, and the historical importance. It was great to see so many Minis from different eras and countries, so many different creations and important Minis (first, last, 33 EJB, etc).

As for the organisation of the show I think the list quoted below is kind.

We drove up the M40/M42 and given the size of the show I truly thought there would be at least a couple signs cable-tied to some lamposts. Unfortunately there was nothing. We got to the A38 junction and saw several Minis going in every different direction. We actually pulled up to one of the entrances to ask where the main entrance was, only to be told it WAS the main entrance, who would have known!?

The toilets and shower blocks were awful. Actually no, they were awful when I arrived on the Saturday, and got worse by the time we left on Sunday!

The security was non-existent for most of the show, not until someone had nearly been run over did they put anyone on the main entrance during the night. We also saw the gaps in the fence that had been created and public just wondering in and out. I'm just glad the TMF camp was near to everyone so that there was always someone around to keep an eye on things.

Who decided serving all the food next to a HUGE mound of rotting compost was a good idea? Saturday we queued through an assualt course, running the portaloo guantlet, leaping over the wooden fence, and into the manure aroma exclosure before getting the chicken pasta salad thing swimming in vinegar.

The glow show was fenced off, but then everyone piled into the enclosure anyway!

The only member of staff I saw during the whole weekend on my travels around the site was the grumpy git that came over whilst we were quietly talking amongst ourselves on the TMF camp, asking us to put out our campfire, safely enclosed in a fire pit, because it was an 'open fire'.

10/10 for the show, and everyone that turned up to make it a great event. 5/10 for the organising.

The weekend was good our mix of classic and new was well meet with people, but there were some bad pionts that we were not happy with as a club and to many others we talked to.
1-The toilets were bad the ones at the top of the field were all blocked up by sat nite, even thou they were pumped there was no water as he had gone home.
2- no water for hours thank god morrisions was down road
3-members of the public were walking on to the site from the top end, were were told that it was to be closed off but it wasnt, this is not right as they were getting in for free!! and we had paid £55.
4-Lack of info were were told nothing no one seemed to know anything there was nothing in the programme we were given. Not until sunday that we were offered a promgramme for £2 which had the times in a bit bloody late for that.
5-IMM crew we saw no one walking around maybe to far for them to come up the hill.
6-Security there was none we had local gits driving around the top by us shouting abuse at us at high speeds as the gate was open all weekend and on sat local teens drinking heavy near club stands making us not want to move in case the cars were damaged or items stolen from ours tents, we did inform some one about it but they were to busy in the beer tent to do things about it!
7-IMM/Mini50-told this was a separte show with mini 50 tickets not getting access to the imm but this was not so as they could wonder around, if this was known to me before hand i could of stayed at home on gone on both days for less money.
But despite this the whole weekend was great would not of missed it, well done to the birmingham mini owners for there hard work and show.
Good to see the anti new mini crap is dying down about time.

Fantastic show..best and biggest Mini show in the world..ever!
Spoilt (for me) only by the constant whinging..(mostly from Brits) about niff-naff and trivia....yes the toilets were dodgy..but no worse than L2B...showers? blimey..we were only there for three days. how would you guys survive with no shower facilities for 6 months...the food station had to be moved at the last minute due the the soft ground and the trucks getting bogged in...the signposts (do people really need signs these days, especially as you only needed to make a right and two left turns from the M42) were stolen on Thursday night by persons unknown...the programme (printed by MiniMag) missed out the timings...there were dozens of organisers all over the show in orange and yellow hi-viz vests plus all the guys in the light blue T-hirts with "CREW" on them who were happy to answer any question...or you could go to the BMOC stand and ask there.
What you have to remember is this show is a one off...no dry run...no practice...no opportunity to try stuff.....LSMOC have run L2B for 22 years and they still get it wrong!
The IMM is a festival..with a festival vibe..that means people muck in and help..and not nicking all the flags and signs as souveniers!!!!
Well done to the BMOC!

^ Nicely said, I agree

Thought it was nice when all the committee members were on stage on the saturday night - it is a massive thing to arrange as a one off event.

I really enjoyed the show, no real complaints from me.

I thought that BMOC did a sterling job, the atmosphere around the site was excellent. I didn't even bother trying to get a shower, every festival/event I've ever been to they've been rank and not worth the effort. If the people using them treated them with respect then maybe they wouldn't be so bad.

Food vans were a bit pricey but didn't affect us as we bought our own.

I never had a problem with the toilets, always fairly clean and usuable, even had paper!!

Thanks to Central Minis for letting me camp with them in their "Fort"!!

Not going to get into an argument.....but.....lol.. do you know what.....water was easy to find if you asked.....we certainly had plenty to drink and do the washing up with...the only chavs running amok were the ones doing circles outside our stand (TMF members I am led to believe!!)..and as a local.....you could have just gone home or better still offered to help!!!

Well we had boy racers driving up and down shouting abuse at us and not mini owners, locals getting in for free and when you have spent nearly 8k on restoring a car you cant relax knowing that there are drunk teens round it and no crew no police or security at all up the top end,as for water we tried a few and no water and when on top of a hill its a long walk with water.
We did offer to help but no one came back to us.
It was a great show and the birmingham lot did a good job, but with a few problems like the ones mentioned

well this light weight spent several hours in the early hours of saturday morning stopping the local chavs messing about by the entrance

having to phone the police when one of them drove into and aroud the campsite had high speed driving into a tent when he lost control , the only number listed for the imm team went to answer phone !!!!

then stopping people tring to rip down the fence to get out once they had closed the gates ,did state on the rules at the entrance no cars in or out after 11pm

not saying i could do any better but they had a year to plan this how can they not have had enough toilets and water suppl etc they knew how mant people where coming

is the only show i have every been to that the gates where unmanned ,from about about 8 pm on friday night people and cars could just come in unchallanged !!!

they got securtiy in on saturday night but have a feeling thats only because of friday nights incident, bit like shuting the gate after the hosre has bolted

having spoke to securtiy boss on saturday night found out they had a meeting a month ago but decided not to have it for what every reason

all it needed was some one sitting there if i can stay up till 4:30 am am sure some one fron the people that ran it could

HEY!!!

Before you start chucking accusations around like that, make sure you are sure of your facts.

If you have a problem with ANY obsession member feel free to drop me a PM.

That kind of comment helps no-one.
