Good luck on sorting it.

"You break, you buy!!"

Get him to fix it, if he can't afford to do it himself he has no choice but to go through insurance, after all, that's why it's there.

If a friend did this to me and wouldn't cough up I'd be re-evaluating our relationship!

You best buy me a new bumper then >_<

Hmmm ohh wait, nope I didn't, I told you I had chipped more paint off scrappy and just giggled, wasn't this the same day you drove it into a Volvo though >_<

i have had the same situation years ago. when my mate crasged into me when i was PARKED! in mcdonnolds car park. and he can up the car park (like a nobend) and as he was having an arguement with his misses in the car did not look where he was going. and yep you guessed it straight into the back on my mini. nocking iit over the curb and 3metres on the grass! nearly in the round about the other side. (tamowrth drive through)

have a look on my website for the pictures. under "my mini" link.

i was also worried about my insurance company writing my car off over a few £100s worth of repairable damage. and yes i did not really want to loose a mates insurance no claims. so he just said he would pay for it. and i still cant believe it today that he payed for it.and a few weeks later in a shitty metro i got hold of.a when round few other mates and escorted him to a cash mashine and yes he payed up alright. i gathered up some more cash just to make sure i had enough and payed the bill. and jonspeed. done it all for £500! so did not cost me nothing.
looking on the bright side he made my mini back end rust free!!!! >_< a few weeks later that was it. a took it off the road and started the fulll restoration. i had it back last week from respray and now im biulting it again now. all glad it is coming to an end now just so i can drive it again.

oh and when jonspeed did it i just told them to use secondhand parts such as a boot lid, rear lights and new parts being replacment panels. to keep thge cost down and yer they done a great job and all done before stanford hall mini show in 2007.

glad it is all nearly done.

well we cancelled the insurance when we got the car in the garage and cancelled the insurance because there's no point paying for it now if my car is off the road...

i agree. it is between you and your mate. i never got on now esle involved really in the choosing what to do. only the the escorting him to the cash point just incase he did a runner. as i gave him enough notice to get the money. the left it a few weeks and then turned up ast his house.

...........ahhhh the good old days.

i agree. it is between you and your mate.

no it's not >_<

why do you have insurance if your not going to use it ??? .... just so your road legal ????

come on, this guys lost his car and he cant even rely on his dad to do the right thing for him, geez, i'm starting to feel sorry for the guy now >_< >_<

"sorting it out with your mate" is OK if it's just a bent bumper or a smashed light but this is WAY beyond that. they should have gone down the insurance route straight away with damage that bad. i don't care if its your mate or your granny >_<
