Like I will always say, Love me, Love my mini!! me and Zebedee will never part company!!! and its not always women who dont understand minis, its men too, pretty much every guy I have been involved with has never really understood the mini thing.

I agreee with some of the other guys here, buy her a mini, she'll soon under stand then and if not, you have two little gems, a Winter mini and a summer mini!!! happy days :P :P

im quite lucky because my girlfriend is pretty awsome, she asks if she can come to the shows with me if she is at home from uni at the time! she has actually got into minis, when i go and see her she says, theres a mini parked there or there most days, so secretly i think she has caugt the bug! but she wont admit it! she comes to some of the shows with me, and she even brought me tickets to the autosport show for christmas!! and came with me!!!!!

the only timewe have had a heated moment about the mini was after i had driven her near enough 70 miles in min mins to get her to her friends 19th birthday at her uni! id got it in the neck from her friend that night at the party because i was "being misserable" and because i said i couldnt contribute to the taxi, because i needed the money for petrol the next day (cost me £10 in fuel to get there, and the taxi was £1.50 each, hmm i wonder which one she would of prefered to pay), i was "misserable" because i just had a feeling my mini would break down on the way home, as it had been playing up on the way up! anyway, so i got it in the neck from her, and then, on the way home, it did brake down, so then i really wasnt happy! luckily though it was only 2 miles from where my dad works, so he came and towed us in to the yard! anyway, my girfriend starts moaning, because she hadnt met my dad before, and as we had dressed up as smurfs for this party thing, she said "looked a state" and didnt want "my dad to judge her" and that "i needed a more reliable car" to which i opened my door, got out, slamed it shut, and went to "find the problem" i wasnt really, just needed to calm down! to be fair though, we hadnt got much sleep and we were both really tired, so im sure she didnt mean it to come out like that! and she did apologise after, told me she loved my car and wouldnt want me to sell it! this was before she really understood why i liked cars though, so i will let her off!

A DICTONARY FOR MEN TO INTERPRET WORDS WOMEN USE

FINE - This is the word women use to end an argument when they feel they are right and you need to shut up. Never use "fine" to describe how a woman looks. This will cause you to have one of those arguments.

FIVE MINUTES - This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes that your are going to be working on Mini's Brakes so it's an even trade.

NOTHING - This means "something," and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards. "Nothing" usually signifies an argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with the word "Fine."

GO AHEAD (With Raised Eyebrows) - This is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing," and will end with the word "Fine."

GO AHEAD (Normal Eyebrows) - This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don't care. "You will get a "Raised Eyebrow Go Ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by "Nothing" and "Fine," and she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off.

LOUD SIGH - This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement Often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot at that moment, and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing."

SOFT SIGH - Again, not a word, but a non-verbal statement. "Soft Sighs" mean that she is content. Your best bet is to not move or breathe, and she will stay content.

THAT'S OKAY - This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman Can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you back for whatever it is that you have done. That's Okay" is often used with the word "Fine" and in conjunction with a "Raised Eyebrow Go Ahead." At some point in the near future, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble.

PLEASE DO - This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance with the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay."

THANKS - A woman is thanking you. Do not faint. Just say you're welcome. (this term is rarely used)

THANKS A LOT - This is much different from "Thanks." A woman will say, "Thanks A Lot" when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have offended her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh." Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh," as she will only tell you "Nothing.

The voice of experience speaks ........

Lol, i split up with 2 of my girlfriends because of the mini, the first on was only going out with me because i had a car (shallow *woman of ill repute*) i found this out when she accidently called me and i heard what she was talking about.

The 2nd one, was partly due to exams, and my parents made me choose between her and the car... HA!

plus she was really dumb. for instance, i had just painted my front wing when she came round. and she wanted to see what i had been upto, so i showed her, and said dont touch, the paint is wet.
"It looks dry *poke*" ANOTHER HOURS WORK!

so, now ive given up, unless i can find someone who understands (doubtfull at my age)

My ex quite liked my mini (though had no general interest in cars) but he wasn't so keen on the new social life I got because of it!

Met my current bf through said Mini social life though so it's all good :P We both love cars, I do despair sometimes at the amount of money he spends on his Pug but not because I'd rather he spent the money on me, but because he spends so much he's got no cash left for petrol to drive the blasted thing :P

I made it clear to my girlfriend that I operate on a strict ''last in = first out'' policy....

I think she knows the safest thing is not to ask which comes first!

My car obsession does really annoy her though, she thinks mini's are 'cute' and 'lovely' but will not go in mine, as it's just far too loud and bumpy.

"my girfriend starts moaning, because she hadnt met my dad before, and as we had dressed up as smurfs...." :P :P

That alone is all the justification you need for owning a less than reliable Minmin.

I have been working on Huey today with no objections from Mrs T.

All I had to do first was get the breakfast, clear the kitchen, do her hair colouring (don't ask :P ) and do the shopping. Then I get an hour free. Just enough time to paint second skin sludge on one door and the bonnet, and clean up.

Compromise, that's what I always say. Especially when pinned to the wall by a rolling pin.

PS Srsly it was Mrs T who spotted Huey for sale in the first place and gave me the ok to buy him so she sort of shot herself in the foot :P

Luckily myself and the other half are more or less equally in to minis - not surprising seeing as we met through minis! ;)

We're not all car ignorant and non-lovers! I think Neil may have joked that I love Freddie more than I do him  :P then again we've both asked each other which would we take if we had a choice of each other or our dream mini! Usually met with silence for a few minutes, then "both!" :P

As a few other people have said...My partner understands the love i have for my mini and is more than happy for me to spend time and money on it...And she does love minis herself and still desires to eventually get a mini one day...

Although one day i...errr..was in a sarky mood and ermm she said "I bet you love your mini more than me" i err nodded and said yeh in a serious face..although i didnt mean it let me just say that lol...it took alot to convince that i didnt lol...

One of those days.... :P
