i've always been with guys who have had a passion for something, either their bike or their cars, usually i take an interest in it and try and join them with it, i've learnt loads of new stuff on the way. I think its great that they have a hobby they are so into, then it means they dont spend every waking moment with me!

I love my mini just as much, i would have to, otherwise it would just rot away and that would be sad.

the only timewe have had a heated moment about the mini was after i had driven her near enough 70 miles in min mins to get her to her friends 19th birthday at her uni! id got it in the neck from her friend that night at the party because i was "being misserable" and because i said i couldnt contribute to the taxi, because i needed the money for petrol the next day (cost me £10 in fuel to get there, and the taxi was £1.50 each, hmm i wonder which one she would of prefered to pay), i was "misserable" because i just had a feeling my mini would break down on the way home, as it had been playing up on the way up! anyway, so i got it in the neck from her, and then, on the way home, it did brake down, so then i really wasnt happy! luckily though it was only 2 miles from where my dad works, so he came and towed us in to the yard! anyway, my girfriend starts moaning, because she hadnt met my dad before, and as we had dressed up as smurfs for this party thing, she said "looked a state" and didnt want "my dad to judge her" and that "i needed a more reliable car" to which i opened my door, got out, slamed it shut, and went to "find the problem" i wasnt really, just needed to calm down! to be fair though, we hadnt got much sleep and we were both really tired, so im sure she didnt mean it to come out like that! and she did apologise after, told me she loved my car and wouldnt want me to sell it! this was before she really understood why i liked cars though, so i will let her off!

What is the right answer to that statement "buy another car" without defending it to the death and upsetting people? any ideas because its something i get told alot.

My fella pretends he doesnt like my Mini but I know secretly he loves her as much as I do! I dont mind though, cause he fixes her for me (which I can also tell he loves!) He always moans at me about her "it hurts my ankle when I drive it", but I can tell hes secretly loving every Minute!

He understands the bug, he had it too, his first car was a Mini and 3 years after he took her off the road, shes still sat on the drive!! Hes moved on now, hes got a 200sx, but im sure he'll be back to the scene after a bit of a break!

My dad on the other hand knows NEVER to bad mouth my Mini. I can tell exactly what hes thinking but he'll never say it! I think the only time he ever did I shouted at him and then didnt talk to him for a week!

I hate the people who slate your Mini or tell you to get another car. I went down to my mates garage the other day and there was some customer there, we were talking to my mate about fixing something on Lily and this guy turns round and asked what car it was, I told him a Mini and pointed to Lily hidden behind a Pajero! He looked at me and said "I hate Minis, I always have, always will..theyre horrible cars!" I just gave him 'the look' and then quickly walked off!! No one says they hate Minis when Lilys in earshot! They'll hurt her feelings.

there was a funny noise coming from what i thought was the gearbox, as i had just had it swapped with one of the project motor so i could get to work in the summer, but it was driving nicely still, still smooth and everything! then on the way back it got louder, so i pulled of the main road into a lay by and rang my dad and got him to tow it back! was the gearbox, the old bearing had started to give way just like the one in the original gearbox stupid wide wheels!

The only thing someones said that has anoyed me was one of my mates from college. When I bourght my mini he came round to have a look at it and the first thing he said was 'I thought you were buying a real mini' He still hasnt been discharged from hospital.
