well at MRA today so after prepping my gearbox by removing the bad casting marks martain used his new tool to reem the layshaft hole out in order to take one of his uprated turbo layshafts, so all going well should be built next week. got some nice SC gears to go in there combined with my brand new 2.9 FD which turned up today and an x pin diff its going to be one strong gearbox, just what i need for what it being coupled too

if you want to see a layshaft in person im sure martain and debbie are taking one in a casing as a demonstration of what it is, and what it compares to to see at bingley :X

Why arn't you putting the turbo in the normal place, seeing as you've got the bulkhead box?

multiple reasons

front mounted rad so in my eyes this area is big wasted space
uniqueness (why do the same as evryone else?)
better flow (the exhaust from the turbo is getting dumped straight out of the a panel) and there is a shorter distance for the air to trave from turbo- intercooler - plenum.
if i get another car i wont need to modify the bulkhead as im not a fan of doing it
better weight balance (weighs out the clutch and flywheel on the other side
built from the right tubing it could be more efficient than the standardmetro manifold

just all makes sense to have it there.
