So as you can see from the above, that's before I touched anything. It's a bit hit and miss.. some patches are okay, some have been replaced.. however some repairs are good and some are bad.. and then there is the countless holes and rusty spots.

My aim is to have it look as if it's rolled out of the factory, I don't want any obvious patches or horrible blobs of underseal. It'll all be nicely repaired and coated afterwards.

That is nasty under there, didn't think it was that bad. Anyway, keep up the good work pal :teehee:.

I know, god forbid if it was after :teehee:. What are you going for in this then? Standard i.e. how it would be out of the factory? Sorry if it's been said already.

Right, I've managed to resize them all! Simple split into before & after. (Haven't finished the floor panels.. needs a good load of heat & scraping, the boot was my main objective)

I remember doing that job, it's so soul destroying and the black stuff is orrible, but like you said at least you can see what state the shell is in and what you're up against. Looking good

Well.. yeah

Had a chat with Dad earlier and I've decided to go ahead and order a full boot replacement (battery box included). Rather than try and patch here and there.. as you can see it'd be a lot of hard work, time and effort.. when I could just cut the whole lot out and weld a new floor in.

But.. I'm making progress!

Placed another order with Minispares, only a few small bits.. I'm home again this coming weekend, in which I'll 100% finish the rear subframe.

£130, inc. battery box. It's a genuine panel too.

I've got a chap in the village who is also restoring a mini, we are both pretty much at the same stage in terms of bodywork, he's a bit ahead of me as he's had his shell blasted. But we will be placing a huge order together. He has said he's ordered panels and haggled them down by 30-40% sometimes, so if he can do that again I'll be laughing.

That wasn't to bad then really. Yeah that would be great if he can. Is that the person you went to see him to look at his spit and found out he had a mini?

if you go to M-Machine their floor halves come with half the tunnel, just need cross member and outer sills
and cross member extensions.

Cheers for the tip! & yeah I'll be in all day on Saturday, you any good with KA sound systems? got to sort my girlfriends out :) Oh and I'll only let you round on one condition, you let me sit in your mini :dontgetit: It's been so long!

Yeah that's the bloke G, he used to race them as a teen with his wife, kept a few things aside safely! Can't remember what he's got exactly but he's got a Straight cut box and some big 1380 blocks & heads or something or other.
