Ha I know :) already been pointed out to me, didn't occur to me that the oil would interfere so much. I'm going to Nitromors the inside when I go home again. Do you think it'll be a problem on the outside of the timing chain cover too?

If the panels dont arrive before Easter, I plan to start making my dashboard and finish putting the engine back together during the two weeks I've got.

I got back from Uni yesterday, in total I've got two weeks for Easter :) but I'm away for 5 days & I've got a lot of work to do for my final major project. I will hopefully get a good few full days in on the mini and make some progress.

Picked up some 5mm thick plywood today, for my dashboard of course.

& these came in the post, the seal for the gearbox.. so I can now get that back together & I found an old style retro looking cigarette lighter on ebay, means I can use a satnav, hands free.. whatever. Really pleased with this, I know it's not the most amazing of things  but I was thinking I'd have to hide a horrible modern halfrauds plastic one behind the dashboard and pull it out when I needed it, this one I feel I can mount onto the dashboard :D will fit it nicely with everything else.

I need to work out what gauges & switches I will be wanting and start sketching some rough layouts down.

Cheers :P

Ha yeah.. about that.. I placed the order, but didn't expect it to go through.. because of my overdrafts and such. But it's on it's way :P in two halves.. because some bits were out of stock. But yeah I was keeping it to myself until the package turned up :(

I've put a thread in the wanted section of a few websites, but if anyone reads this, I'm after any period/retro bits for dashboards. Toggle switches, switch extensions, map light etc.. so if you've got any, in any condition, as long as they are working. Let me know ;)

Back from norfolk :D

Posted Image

Bulkhead box & reverse switch arrived.

Also a package from Mini Sport.. was sent to Dads work though. Funny I ordered £400 worth of panels, and a whole boot floor including the battery box and only a shoe box sized package turned up >_<

So I'll be ringing them up tomorrow and chasing them.
