Unlucky mate, shows how quickly they can deteriorate!
Yep it does

I should work out exactly what i need to finish off the engine. And i need a few brake and suspension components, but they won't affect the MOT.

I guess starting with an injection car makes it quite easy doesn't it??
Keep up the good work!

hi any up dates?
josh
Yes! lol, at last=)
Unfortunately no pictures of the work=(
The mini is currently in the body shop getting sorted=) And i'm currently driving a 1.7 Diesel VW Lupo, its soooo slow=P
I went down today to see how it is coming along. Currently has no front on it, passenger side sill has been replaced, scuttle and top dash rail have been replaced. Unfortunately the driver side inner sill is pretty rotten all the way along and really needs replacing, it could be patched but as its all being done properly i'll have it all replaced, and the door step could do with replacing aswell
The bad thing is the cost of the 2 panels needed is nearly £200!! I've already spent £800 on panels=/ They are heritage panels, but its still ruddy expensive.
On the engine Front, I've been sorting out the bottom pulley as it needed spacing out to avoid contact with the tensioner, so i turned out a spacer at work and i sorted out some key ways for the cam pulleys, I'm going to cut the head studs down this weekend so i can think about bolting the head on.
Suspension and brakes are pretty much taken care of, I bought a suspension kit a few months ago from mini-spares including adjustable bottom arms, adjustable tie-rods, adjustable rear camber brackets, etc. Got a pair of rear Gaz shocks, need to buy some fronts, and the mini is already running hi-lo's.
I've also got a pair of subframe's to strip down, shot blast and get painted. I'm tempted to lighten them in the process.
I'm pondering whether to run 10 inch wheels as i've already got a Cooper S brake setup
Oh yeah, nearly forgot i bought a fibreglass boot and bonnet from arc angels, got to say they are quality items, the boot is a double skin one and the bonnet has hinge mounts and release catch.
Thats about it until the weekend until i get some photo's=D
Its looking good! I'm just about to fire up my 1293 twin cam and I'm looking forward to it so much!!

Thanks, that sounds interesting=) How did it go?
Yeah i think starting with an injection car has made it pretty easy, fuel tank is there with return line and the replacement engine loom just plugs straight into the existing car loom. I can see the radiator may cause me a problem but i'm not sure atm, SC told me it should be ok, so i will see. Only bad point is you need to retain the Cat for MOT's but it can come off for the rest of the year, doesn't make much difference though.

So it's on the road for the next 3 months then its coming back off the road for the engine swap and the subframes to be rebuilt over the winter, a cunning plan i believe=P
In the end it had a complete front end(wings, front panel, a-panels and scuttle), passengers door skin, rear valence, passengers side sill and drivers side inner/outer sills, all heritage and all very expensive!!! Boot and bonnet are both fibreglass from Arc angels.
Current wheels will only be on for a few weeks then they'll be up for sale. I have a set of 5.5x12 Superlites that i'll be refurbing in the next week or so.
Pre paint-

Post paint-

A few bits bolted back on, i was going to put some banded black steelies on but 12's are more in keeping with the look i was after.

And this is the latest photo, i took this evening -

Wow that looks really nice, good work !
Thankyou=)
The headlights look awesome! Where did you get them from?
Thanks!
I can't really help you on that=( i bought them from ebay, the only thing i know is they are the crystal style ones and you can get clear versions from Huddersfield mini spares, and i think Minisport do them but i don't know where you can get the yellow ones from.
