i love that bulkhead material i've got it fitted to both of my minis and my other long term project mini - my dads started it 3 and half years ago :teehee: - its great at shows you can get a massive roll for like £10.... just can't seem to get it anywhere else!!!!

day 29 in the number 2 garage

woodpecker - your high leve brake light does work.....

right shock mounts repaired

Posted Image

then fitted the engine

half way

Posted Image

and in

Posted Image

Posted Image

we've done up the bottom mounts, but thats it so far.....

then i started on the rear sub, and put new flexis and the handbrake cable

Posted Image

and made up new cooper lines for the radius arms - and greased the play out of the arms - i think it will need new radius arms for next years mot!!!!

so with the new pipes and handbrake cable fitted, the subframe went on.....

Posted Image

Posted Image

and i cleaned up the capilers ready for wooo to paint

Posted Image

and pecks as been busy on the wings again...

Posted Image

Posted Image

LOL

Posted Image

then i fitted the scuttle closing panel on the drivers side and closed it all up

Posted Image

still got the passenger side to do tho!!

Posted Image

and fonzy has been stripping the head off the tigra, which took him most of the day and there are some lovery bent valve in there!!!! FAIL - he has got to strip the head off my sisters old tigra (which died from electrical issues.....) and fit on to her new one........

this is putting a major set back on the speed mini building, as fonzy has gotta fit the doorskins and front end...... i'm not good enough to do it!!! and then he is gonna lead the front in all the seams.... -so i'm hoping for rain because he is working outside......

he did prep one of the doors for reskinning today tho and welded the nuts in the doors for the wingmirrors....

fitted the remaining front wheel bearing and all new ball joints

and then pecks painted the hubs and all the other little bits on her painting table ;)
Posted Image

ohhhh new slave cylcinder ;) - the old one was WELL dank!!
Posted Image

then i spent time mainly taking things off the engine ready to be repainted and fitted :)
Posted Image

Thanks Guys :dontgetit:

ok todays update
Day 31 :P

tonight i was doing a few bits and bobs on the engine new slave cyclinder
Posted Image

fuel pipe from Carb to pump and top and bottom engine steadys

Posted Image

then refited the coil(after i had to borrow it for my green mini after i have killed another coil........) and the new HT leads - the lead set was missing the lead from the coil to the dizzy cap :) - email to mini spares to sort that one out!! and fitted the new dizzy cap - and peckers fitted the starter motor

Posted Image

and cut the new bulkhead liner :dozing: - from a 'template' (one i made the wrong way round for my green mini!!!) - i'll post the link up from where we got the material for the postage is quite expensive - but the material is £10 per meter and will cover the bulkhead for 2 layers and the bottom dash shelf with plently to spare......

so the liner (2 layers) will go in once the heater hose clip on the heater valve decides it wants to undo - or is cut off!!! LOL

then i've been fitting the new choke cable
Posted Image

and the switch panel half back in

Posted Image

the old choke cable was a bit melted!! LOL

And fonzy has been drilling out the old door hinge bolts as they really didn't want to undo and we need them off to re skin the door!!!

Day 32.....

things seem to be going slowly at the mo - many because we are doing little fiddly bits which take time, but also because fonzy is tied up with my sisters car ;) - i'm REALLY hoping to get the front end on at the weekend...

so, have made a list for us to get everything done ready for the new panels:

written on the old door skin of course!!!

Posted Image

so to help with the door skinning - i took the hinge off the other door and welded the nuts for the wingmirrors in the new skins, as they don't come with them

Posted Image

then i moved on to the back brakes and fitted the new rear wheel cyclinders, cooper fixed pipes on the radius arms, new shoes and handbrake gaitors, and put plently of cooper slip everywhere

Posted Image

i like the underneath of it, it looks pretty :w00t:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

sooooooo glad i got them all done

then woooo has been refitting the shocks and shock mounts

Posted Image

and general bits and bobs for me - like finishing off bolting the switch panel in - which she FAILED at so lined it up for her!!!

and removing the old brake pipes from the cailpers - they were well siezed on - but the hammer soon sorted that out!!!

and the list at the end of the night

Posted Image

couple of things crossed off - but every little helps!!! LOL - woooo did get a bit carried away tho.... LOL

I love and hate this thread all at the same time.

I love it because I love to see the amazing progress made.
I hate it because it reminds me of what I used to achieve when I was young and enthusiastic and just got on with it rather than planning it !!!! lol

Seriously, great progress again
