paint is ordered  - should be here tomorrow or the day after.....

i need to make a painting plan

i reckon have it ready for paint by the end of the weekend - and paint the roof on sunday - then we can leave it for a few days to harden then it might be the sat of the next week to paint it to get the temp right - so the next goal have it fully painted by 14th March

then a week to whack it back together and get it running and the will only be a week over target

sound like a plan pecks?????

we have to:
do a few electrical repairs and add a few wires in for cig light etc
fit the exhuast
pump in the heater(might need a new matrix as it currently leaking) + refit the rad + turn the fan around
fit the alternator
pump in the carb
refit the wiper rack + motor
reline the bulkhead
fit all the wiper stuff
fit the bumpers, + grille + headlight + indicators
refit the power cable + all the switches
Build up the dash
build up the doors,
fit all the glass
refit the stainless sill strips
build up the boot
build up the bonnet
refit the tank and rear light
fit a battery
fit the rear shock + wheels then adjust up the brakes
fit the seatbelts
underlay
carpet set
and seats
and test drive - i think thats it.... some things we can do before paint - but quite a bit is after paint....

there is quite a bit to do still......

it was just a big polisher with a sander attachment on, work quite well, but i do get carried away with it.......

Thanks for the offer for the plans, i think it will only have a speaker board under the rear seats, which will come out of my mini when i fit my new ones.....

LOL, it is going to be red - we are just trying to wind tanner up, as our club colours are orange - so woodpeckers told her she has to wear our club t shirts or we'll paint her mini Orange!!!!

and it makes it a million times easier to be red so we don't have to paint inside!!!!

i might get a boot tray for it - i've got one in the Sky made from Fibreglass i brought at a show its really good!!!

right todays update

day 38........

rubbed down the rear quarters with the sander again

Posted Image

Posted Image

and refilled - they are soooooooo much better now - i'll do the rest by hand because i get well carried away with the sander!!!!

then finished preping the boot - and put a little bit of filler on by one of the hinges as there was a little dent

Posted Image

attacked the scuttle with the sander to get rid of the surface rust

Posted Image

and also ran the sander over the bonnet - as there were a couple of bits of surface rust on it - we have had it for 3 years.......

Posted Image

bonnet is ready to prime

Boot just needs the filler rubbing down then that is ready to paint

rear panel need the boot lip rubbing down then that is ready to prime

hopefully both rear quarters are on there final coat of filler and will be ready to prime

both doors need some more filler work - i haven't started on the drivers yet.....

there is still quite a bit to do before we can prime - but i'm hoping that i can get a coat on somewhere on friday... then a full coat all over on saturday

we are still waiting for the solder paint to turn up <_<
