started with a FAIL

got the bottom arms the wrong way around!! FAIL - i didn't think they were handed, but the holes for the ball joints are tapered..... FAIL, so after quickly swapping them over - i built up each front hub - including untwisting the brake lines - GAY job!!!

we still need to get a brake pad fitting kit for the new spilt pins i have the new clips but the old spilt pins are knacked and one side they are really thin ones used.......
then Fonzy has been doing this to the passenger door - which i REALLY appreciate

and done and welded on.....

then i unwrapped the new front panel and found this REALLY helpful sticker

and found the said bolts and

new mounts

i'm gonna get wooo to paint the inside of the front panel while it off and easy to get to!!! and Fonzy is Looking forward to the challenge of making the new panels fit!!! -he really is.... honest!!
we might end up fitting the new front on sunday so I'll probably have to cut Devon Cafe short.......
and also got the new bonnet out....

just gotta grind off the extra hinge mounts for the MK1 hinges and i think bend it up slightly in the middle!!!
hopefully tomorrow night will be other door skin on and bleed through the brake and clutch

Can i ask how he's 'losing his rag' over it? All he did was ask in a nice manor. Nothing nasty was said nor was he ranting. Don't see the need for your comment when it is wrong about accusing him of something he hasn't done.I think you need to calm down a bit i agree its a little annoying but nothing to lose your rag overnordicmini please don't quote posts with pictures, this is not acceptable on any forum please edit, thanks

didn't think it would happen but.....

the list is all ticked off - well apart from the alternator, because i haven;t been above to get the fan belt

sooooo happy its all done tho!!!!
any way today, peckers has cleaned up and red oxided the wing of one of the wings - last bit to do, and one of the A panels which had a tiny bit of surface rust on

i removed the 2 set of hinges on the bonnet... and bent the back lip to curve in line with the scuttle - then dropped it on the floor while trying to get it off one the hinges!! FAIL
and tidied up all the scuttle weld i hadn't ground back yet
then helped fonzy briefly refit the drivers door to see if it all line up - the skins we had from seems a bit too long.. so we wanted to make sure it wasn't gonna cause a problem and it was fine

Then Fonzy reskinned the other door and welded it all up

then i used a eezibleed kit to bleed through the brakes and clutch... - it was alright when i used a tyre with air in, the right cap for the brake master cyclinder and connected the front to rear brake pipe........ LOL
the front to rear pipe was trapped under the rear subframe but lucky it came out alright!!!, and i had to take out the nipple for the drivers hub and clean it out as it was full of muck and there was no way the fuild was coming through there!!!!
Eezibleed kits are amazing!!! made it so easy!!!!
so all the brake and Clutch pedal are now fine and operational!!!!!! whoop whoop
after cleaning up the massive mess i made!! FAIL!!!! me and pecks drilled the holes and planned out where the air horns are gonna be mounted - so much easier with no wings on!!!

so that is the shell ready for the front end and the front end all preped ready to go on!!!!!!!! so you can guess what we will be doing tomorrow!!!! (as well as per MOT checks for Woopeckers mini and running repairs on my 2!!!)

Day 35.....
start off my fixing my mini - it turned out a blade on the fan had snapped off, so i'm presumeing this flicked up and trashed the rad
anyway, then got woodpeckers equinox in for some pre MOT checks and a tiny bit of welding...... - nothing major tho.... - and found some rather siezed brake adjusters  FAIL
so finally got on the project
fixed this FAIL i made when put the sill on - the side popped out and i didn't notice

so i cut and rewelded with the side pushed back in, sooooooooo much better now!!!!
then me and wooo lined up the passenger door - taking the oringal shims out.... and then me and dad lined the drivers door up adding some shims...

then fonzy fitted the a panel and wing

and then the bonnet

which still needs moving back towards the scuttle - and the hinges re drilling - the wing also bends out half way down the inner wing leaving a bit of gap

Fonzy wants to lead load the seams, but didn't check what equipment has to do it untill today.... and the paint stuff you put on to prep the area has dried out

so all the front will have to come off again to prep the joints

then me and pecks started rubbing the back end down ready for primer

rear quarter with is random damage

and half the roof!!

the roof looks really good, the back panel is ready for primer and the passenger rear quarter still needs a bit of work and some filler work over the repair
Tomorrow me and wooo are off to Devon Mini cafe for most of the day - i'm hoping fonzy will get his lead stuff sorted.. and fit the rest of the front end.....

came home for Devon Mini cafe run to find.....

MINI!!!!!!!
whoop whoop
there is just the passenger front seam for the wing/front panel to 'make fit' but fonzy ran out of clamps...

but its looking goooooooooooood

i'm gonna weld up the drivers side tomorrow afternoon, and start on some filler work on the bottom of the rear quarters and i'm hoping the masking paper will arrive so we can lay some primer on it.......
