things have been a little quite of late, so a few updates for you all, I went out and re torqued the cylinder head and adjusted the tappets to 14 thou running really nice, had a nice little blast in it after tightening up a few bolts here and there, looking forward to the rolling road next couple of weeks, what do we think hp figures and torque figures /. im hoping for around 80-90 hp with similar torque figures, had proper little clean of the mini too the other day which I really enjoyed the clio and the mini had a pampering day and I get to chill have a few beers and listen to some music in the sun SUN I KNOW WHAT A SHOCKER !!

a few technical issues with the pickup the last couple of days, I took it work as my clio has had expired tax and Mot, so all was good on the way up.
then on the way home the problems started, I stalled whilst trying to find out why my clutch was clicking when it was in gear, and only when it was in gear, however I stalled whilst trying to locate it,
upon doing this is encounter a technical difficulty once stalled I could not get it started, the started solenoid was firing but not enough power to crank the engine. so in the middle of Kennington park road ( in London) she decided to stop working, so I stuck on the hazards and push and bumped her up the kirb which I didn't want to do but had to be done. trying to figure out the problem, I knew the battery had gone flat but the answer was why ??
bad battery ? nope, my battery earth strap had come loose, meaning that there was a high resistance in the cable which meant a quicker drain, !!!
so once I sorted this out I got jump started and drove it home, this all happened on Saturday, on my Sunday it was my aunties birthday so decided to take the mini for a drive on the way there was very good this illusive clutch click.
so on the way home from my aunts and uncles, I noticed that I had a knock developing, from the Near side, that increased with faster speed, when at 30/40 I dipped the clutch and can still hear this knock, I do not know what it is yet any ideas from you guys? im thinking a outter cv but its when im going in a straight line. I thought normaly though when it is a outer cv normally it could click on a full lock ?
Thanks Robbie

well well well some pictures and news on the pickup,
below is me broken down on the kennington road in central London,
sat in the rear of the pickup assuming the chilling out position
Cleaned the Beast and the Toy
got a text off someone on the Renault sport scene
some photos from brooklands mini show
over the last couple couple of weeks, the pickup has developed a knock, after getting the wheels off and adjusting the wheel nuts I had to reshim the ball joints, in total I removed 23 shims !
Rolling road, day at minispeed,
Figures
69.2 Bhp @ 6325Rpm
65.3 ft Ib @ 3818Rpm
I was hoping for nearer 80 so I will be having chats with people to work out what to do with the carbs to increase power weather or not to go twin 1" 1/2 or a Hiff44 would idealy like to keep the twins but need to know what sort of power I could get with them.
Will post up some videos shortly
