I did a track day at rockingham at Miniworld live
Also took the mini too the Santa pod first run of the day was an 18.2 managed to get down to 17.546 not a bad time considering it was beating 998 turbos and also 1380's put a smile on my faces
However on the way him I was filling a friend in his new 100e with a 2.1 pinto and he overtook me I thought ******* to this, so I dropped it down a gear and booted it ! Revved it to 7000/7300 like normal when putting my foot down, on the change from 3rd to 4th I heard a massive bang and felt something hit under my foot,
I will be doing. A compression test to see if I have Done any damage, I will also be getting the cylinder head off as its smoking a lot on start up which makes valve stem oil seals whilst the head is off I will get it inspected for any warps and relap in the valves
Hope this is a good update for you all

Not good news mate!!
well it got better !!!!
update time !
shortly after my last post i did a compression test and all came back good across all the cylinders, there was no damage on the engine, oil pressure sat were it normally done checked the manifold, no damage there either. i know sometimes it does like to go pop every now and again and spit out a little flame every now and again !
anyway the car was packed away for a couple of weeks and then started up, checked all the other bits i needed too, and had a bit of white smoke on start up so the valve stem oil seals will be replaced over the winter, however my main concern was to get the car ready for track and showtime at castle coombe, always a fun show for me and ben however we did not want a repeat of last year, car both performed well on track and was happy with the drive, a few issues still to rectify during fast long corners loosing power (suspected floats closing)
also mounting up the corbeau ready for next years track days, so i can push harder and on the look out for a 300mm suede steering wheel so i get more grip rather than slippery wood
now in more exciting news i have dropped the engine to KAD to have 1293 beast started to be machined now we jsut need to wait, i am in the process of looking up for a multi connector so that i can have a quick release loom that will allow me to change between the 1014cc and the 1293cc so that track days i have the big boy engine and then for other shows the 1014cc
will post up the links of the track days
night all !!!

UPDATE TIME !!
so nearly a month since the last update that i have done, and my god what a busy month it has been,
I made the trip down to KAD's workshop, and after some Lengthy conversations with many people regarding the specifications and also what is going on with this build.
so whilst i had the engine down at the KAD powerhouse, i was researching various components and we decided on an 11-1 compression ratio i was personally aiming for 11.5-1 however i was told this may be a little too high, at least this way i could get a skim if required.
so i settled for the 11-1 compression ratio, now a few weeks had past and i was starting to receive photos the machining,
however i also received a phone call regarding a certain part i was after, when i orginally drop the engine off i registered interest for a Billet crank, and i received a phone call that one had become available, it had done 6 hours work in a Kad Twin cam engine, and was being changed due to requirement of a stroker crank. so we negociated a price and settled, which then gave me a fully forged bottom end
of the Build and the trial builds
first things first was to make a surgery in the house much to the wifes disgust lol !
this was my nice little bundle of parts to start when i got home
nice little touch on the block too
Kad Oil gallery Bungs
Installing the cam
Starting to time up the Cam was aiming for 101 took a fair few attempts but got it 100% bang on at one stage was knocking 0.5 of a degree out each way took 2 hours to get exactly Correct
Finding the cam maximum lift and then checking 10 thou either side however i did have 1 issue i had to change my timing verniers as the kent ones did not suit the crank so i had to order MED ones
Some sexy flywheel shots
Water pump laquered and installed, Oil Thrower in place awaiting timing cover
Timing cover installed awaiting the silicone to go off so i can trim it back
KAD's Harmonic Dampner installed awaiting new Nut
So the Build so far is going well, i am yet to decide on a gearbox, do i got full screamer with a straight cut, or go helical as it is cheaper......and quieter.......
My FIA swiftune head is ready for collection and i am just waiting until next payday then i can get the little bugger together,
i do have a question, when i put the primary gear on should it spin freely on the crank or should it lock up ( havnt built an engine in a while)
also is it worth rebuiliding my own gearbox or sending it away ? i got guessworks to do my last gearbox however it does like to mark its territory. does anyone have any advice on gearboxes or can point me to a good thread to rebuild them ?
once this engine is finished i wil be takin it to KAD to be setup and Dyno'd on there in house dyno so i can plonk in the car and go !
any feedback is great look forward to some comments
thanks for the read guys

The inner bush diameters should be 3-5 thou clearance on the crank and there should be 3-6 thou end float once installed with the c-clip etc
