Bought it a shiny new prototype rad from MiniSpeed. Did I mention it was shiny?  :proud:

nothing ......which wasn't quite in the days plan......but one of my longest outstanding scrounges came good......a metro vdp auto I'd been door knocking & leaving notes on for years whilst it disappeared further into the undergrowth.....found the owner at last this morn.....yeah anything you need ....20 quid.... so big valve cylinder head, '44 carb, electronic dizzy / coil, alternator and sundry other bits & bobs liberated......wanted the hubs  / brakes too but not unreasonably owner wanted to leave it at least rollable.....

Spent the afternoon cleaning up the swag.... amazing condition - '86 car... had only done 27k!

Quality scrounging!  A✩ for persistence :D

Hell yes - I'm not proud - a polite knock on the door...in this case a dozen or so...more than occasionally pays off big time ;-) Had real fear that the studs on the daft metro thermostat housing would shear....but overnight soak in ....yes yes I know...but WD was all I had....and tonight they came out beautifully..... head still a bit grubby but.... :-) ;-)

Finished repairing and skinning the drivers door, now they are both sat waiting for some paint. That will happen eventually

Fitted fixed negative camber arms and adjustable tie rods, then had the tracking sorted. Judging by the deterioration I believe one of the pivot pins was 53 years old. One tie rod was bent. Drives better now.

Cut inner wings out, getting ready for protech coilovers. Also bought a new foam filled fuel cell and sender unit. Bit big but argh well I wanted a 30ltr tank but they only had 18 and 38ltr so got the 38. Just 3/4 fill it :)
