Finally got round to replacing the grease nipple on the drivers side top balljoint that I snapped a few weeks back. Gave the worst dirty and mouldy bits a quick wash along with the wheels, witch I've now discovered that the lacquer has cracked/crazed on all 4 that I'd only repainted 6 months ago. Checked the oil and found it didn't need topping up and then did my back it trying to re-secure the speaker wires neatly to the underside of the parcel shelf in the boot.

Just moved it slightly in the workshop. New sills should arrive today then work can begin.
To be fair they don't really need doing but as it's the only panel I can't see behind they are getting done for piece of mind.

As I'd finished up replacing a fuel sender on an mgb (for the 3 time of trying) I had some 'spare' fuel left over, so decided to chuck it in the tank of the other mini that's 'finished' but hasn't seen the road yet. It pretty much hadn't been touched for the last 5 months, as the last time it did run it wasn't good, and being stuck in my damp garage with stuff piled up on top of it and all the dust tit could do with a wash. But with half a can of fresh fuel and 2 turns of the key (the tank, lines and carb were dry)it fired right up and ran with none of the problems I was having before I'd given upon it. plus I'd also forgotten just how good a lumpy cam (mg metro in a 998) and maiflow exhaust really sounded compared to the boring pea shooter on the daily and brought back happy memories of trashing an exs mini around with the same cam (abet in an actual 1275) and exhaust combo. It' s also brought back some of that lost enthusiasm to finish all the little jobs and lose ends and drive the thing for the first time in 6 years/since owning.

Stripped the driveshafts out, fitted new pot joints and boots to the cv joints. New diff oil seals and gaskets and new anti leak rod change kit. Oil and filter change and fixed weep on thermostat housing. Only outstanding job to do (possibly tomorrow) renew fuel filter.
