All the painting of the engine and gearbox components completed, new water pump on, drive couplings on.
I would really like to have carried on building it up as a complete unit but the car is 25 miles away at my parents house, if I did that I wouldn't be able to lift it on my own into the back of the Discovery so I'll take it all over next weekend build it up in their garage and hopefully get it back in

dismantled my mk1 heater unit ready for refurbishment. Went to get some abrasive out of my pit for my sandblaster and found this:

Half full of water, did not expect that!
So spent the rest of the day sorting that out

What did I do to my Mini today? I bought it! I drove from Brandon to Derbyshire to pick it up! The seller called it a 1979 Mini Special, but having looked through some of the pictures, I don't know if it's accurate. Did love the drive home though!

Shamed into action by fatass's problems .....
3 years ago I acquired a mega low miles spi engine - wasn't after yet another engine at the time but at a price of "free if you want it" I wasn't about to pass it up..... trouble being I only have a single garage - full of mini and several other lumps, tools etc ....a lame attempt at an excuse for..... leaving it outside for three years - and for various reasons I wasn't living at home for two of those.... so despite loosening the head / rocker gear to ensure valves shut and chucking a tarp over it . Time came today to deal with it.......hopes not high...and expectations of rusted up bores sky high gallon of diesel purchased.....
and ....... its bloomin perfect totally chuffed!!!
