After work I tapped the holes I drilled in the block on Tuesday.

Used a thick piece of wood with a hole in it that fitted the tap snuggly to make sure I tapped them square.

Cut out drivers side door step for replacement, but added to list is now outer sill and repair panel from door frame to arch, like they say double the time taken and cost. :shy:

Might as well get it all done whilst it is parked up.

Put a new water pump in, put the newly repainted rad and housing back - looks tres smart :-)   Blocked off the air vents behind the dash.

I've got to wash mine later. It's got mud all up the sides and even splashes have got on the windows lol.

Basically looks like it's been on a rally

Engine back in, (rubber drive shaft couplings are a total PITA  :mmkay: ), all connected up, fingers crossed, started up - head gasket leaking on number 4  :shy:

Damn - I was careful that it was all cleaned and torqued up carefully when fitting new gasket too.

Guess I know what Im doing next week end now....

Took the old Maniflow exhaust and LCB off, started fitting the new big bore stage 2 LCB and RCM system, looks like it's going to be a tight fit !

Swapped my cheap non Timken bearings to my new genuine Timkens from Mini spares. Felt more robust and well made.

Had a bit of a clear out to get ready for my engine to go back on the stand.

Went out for a drive in thinking I had solved the stalling problem by switching the dizzy cap and leads over but didn't, Stopped and smelt petrol so looked under the car to find a puddle of petrol from the overflow pipe. We managed to get home and found the float needle was sticking, took a tiny bit of material on the fin bits and it's runs smoothly again :gimme:

Also gave it a wash after not washing it in a while
