Swore at the hub as it couldn't come off the shaft, ended up doing the ball joints in situ...

Oh I hate ball joints :(

Fitted a new steering rack and then put the sub-frame back in. Loving that fact that stuff is starting to go back on to the car - finally!

Fitted new head gasket after discovered last weekend that the newly assembled engine was leaking exhaust gases on number 4 cylinder.

All back together again, engine running and new clutch adjusted. Took it a little run to get all up to temperature and back into driveway to notice significant oil loss from below clutch bellhousing  >_<  >_<  >_<  F@#king crankshaft oil seal leaking!!!    (yes I had fitted a new one!).

So back on the ramps, clutch cover off, flywheel off, crankshaft seal out (easy to type, takes a bit longer to do) and wait for next opportunity to get new seal and get it all together again.

On a positive note, the replacement gearbox which was the reason for the strip and rebuild in the first place seems to be in good working order with positive changes and no nasty noises  :D

Heres where we got to and how it's looking:-

Gonna have to do something with that modern looking coil though, looks a bit out of place?

Ah, I see you've gone for a white engine. Good choice. (not biased or anything)

I think it may be the picture making it look lighter than it is, it's actually called light admiralty grey, which I thought was going to be a light grey primer colour.

After stirring the paint for about half an hour it turned from baby blue to a light duck egg blue.

Thought it would look different, but white definitely would!

Hi,

What manifold is that? Did you get it coated or did you buy it like that?

Had to swap the single line hydraulic brake switch, only for the whole thing to come apart, and p*ss brake fluid everywhere. Done it though, and now we have brake lights. If I can find out why the o/s headlight won't work, I'll be more than happy. Exhaust change tomorrow!!
