4 letters, starts with C, ends with P. Looks a bit like a Victorian-era wallpaper I saw once but your pattern has gone randomly saggy.

Hmmm.... I drilled 3 holes for gauges above the radio in my dash. Fitted 3 gauges (but didn't connect them up as dash isn't back in yet). I also got my doors to shut nicer without hitting the catch or the bodywork (drivers door is perfect, passenger door needs a little work) and I also replaced my fuses with correctly rated ones and mounted the open backed fuse boxes onto plastic to eliminate the risk of shorting on the bodywork.
Jobs to do... finish door adjustment, put dash back in, fit a small fire extinguisher (only because it was sitting in the shed ) and get the engine back together!!

I fitted my new radiator, fan belt and temp sensor today with difficulty lol . and whilst doing so discovered my temp valve and water pump will need replacing very soon as they are very very corroded.

Took the plunge and removed the head. Took a while as it was my first time and the locating dowel bolt was seized.
Was told it kept blowing head gaskets when i bought the estate which was why they nicked the worked 1100 out of it and was given the 998.
I think it may have something to do with the head being a bit banana shaped. It's never been skimmed from the looks of things. Now I have a worked 12g202 head that came with it. Is is worth getting that checked over at the same time as getting the original head skimmed?
Cheers
