Took the cylinder head off, found some reasons why the head gasket wasn't sealing. gave the block a little wipe down, got the radiator out and gave it a little clean out... just need to clean the head and block up (possibly skim) and get the head gasket back on and sealing properly... hopefully it won't drink water and contaminate the oil!

Another good cycle to where my Mini is squating. Final coat of engine paint applied, re-fitted fan belt pulley, nice and cleaned yellow fan. Oh, and I know it's been done to death over the last couple of decades but..............Red Bulled my coil the same colour ( Metallic Grey) as Hamish's bodywork! Didn't even know they made zero calorie Red Bull?!

Drove it 4 weeks off the road cleaning up the rear subframe and fitting my new rear door. With the new trunnion rubbers fitted that's every component of my suspension, steering and brakes either renewed or refurbished

Also found some unequal valve springs (couple had collapsed) so will need to order some new ones of them.
Had a minispares order turn up with new arches, oil gauge fittings and a new sump plug gasket washer.
Happy days!
