Found the source of a squeak that's been driving me mad. Put silicone lube on the rubber under the tower bolt- noise gone and replacement parts ordered.

Picked up another one.

It's a 1972 with a metro 1275, twin carbs, S discs and 4.5" Minilites. I'm going to take it off the road to sort out a cover sill and respray it, I'm thinking island blue.

Good day today. Cleaned ALL of the underside with my mate. Looks good as you can see the red under the arches now. All the brake/suspension components are clean and subframe too :D

Smashing day too! Fixed the stuck clutch slave cylinder (using the bottle jack), replaced the battery for a nice Optima and went for a cheeky drive around the block (thankfully no feds about!)

New track rod ends and steering rack gaitors. Got to play with my new impact driver too. Totally awesome (as my 10 year old would say)

Managed to get some time into the car today again, sorted this!

Much better!

Got loads of pics, does anyone want me to do a How To on changing to a 7.5inch set up?

The only issue is, the PO cut back the front arches and moulded in some group 4's and the rear ones are about 40mm up the panel!!! I really need to remove them and make good.

Technically, you don't NEED to weld the floors in.. you could skip the floors and use your feet. Then there's no worry about emissions or fuel cost!

Changed head gasket, head was incredibly warped from what engine shop said. Was like a banana.

It know has compression on all 4 at relatively even pressures.

Just needs a tune up now it's running correctly

Another cycle over to see the Squatter. Ripped out all that ***t foam from the bulkhead, and found traces of a visit from Mr Mouse

Welded in some bracing (just as my gas ran out), then somehow managed to roll the shell onto it's side on my own with four tyres. Then started cutting out the rotten patches!
