Was thinking the same. Many places still sell is as 'red oxide primer' too. Surely wrong under trade descriptions?

It just makes me want to weep when i see people slapping on what they think is red oxide primer onto bare metal in vulnerable areas when infact all they are doing is coating everything in a normal porous primer which just happens to be red  >_<

I Changed out my Tie bars for the more heavy duty adjustable type and replaced the rubbers,  Changed out the Tear drop mounts  with new rubber mounts but still not happy about them as the don't seem to lie flat to the Body panel, the location pin is not in the allocated hole  but the bolts are in ,  so don't  think they will last very long  may have to change them for the solid mounts,  and Changed out my water pump,   greased all ball joints ,

Busy couple of days really

Last weekend but didn't get around to posting until now. Fitted new rubber cones in the front along with repair kits for the upper arms, knuckle joints, gaz std height dampers and Hilos. Up until this, fitting a new water pump was the biggest job I'd tackled myself. It nearly got the better of me once or twice but I stuck at it and I'm delighted I did. Going to fit the same in the rear now this weekend hopefully, then hubs, discs, flanges, pads, track rod ends and tie bars the following weekend. Looking forward to doing it though :)

All I've done today is strip the interior, boot, exhaust, battery cable, rear subframe then removed the majority of the boot floor panel 😆

I'd upload pics but they're too large and I don't know how to make them smaller 😡

Fitted some old steelies with 'dictator' tyres on while I fit my new tyres to the existing rims.
With their unrivalled lack of grip and subsequent dire handling characteristics, they are perfect for a spot of afternoon drifting. Highly recommended.

I've FINALLY finished stripping the thick rubbery sealant from the boot floor. It was tatty, really thick, but my god has it worked. Boot floor is down to bare metal and there's zero rust in there. There are a few dodgy patches that I might grind off and replace with proper repairs, but mam, I reckon I've saved about 5kg off the car's weight with all this sealant gone! :teehee:
