Replaced front wheel bearings. Also emptied the companion bins (like I do every year), there always seems to be stuff in there I'll never need.

Spent ~1500 on parts :-| Cannot wait to fit them but my wallet is not happy! Worth it though I think, to look after the car properly.

I fit a column drop bracket today after having one in the draw for years, it's the best thing I've ever done!

Feels like you're driving the car now rather than holding on! Lol

Did you loosen off the steering rack bolts and do them up once you fitted the bracket?

Don't know how you've got away with that so well! Is that a splodge of waxoyl or similar? Is there a coating of rustproofing wax on the inside of that area perhaps?  Maybe you should have left them on!

Yeah. Red oxide type paint and a load of wax in there too. I've had the car 7 years, the guy before me reckons it had a body "resto" in about 2000 so they've done well!!!

Must have been proper red oxide paint and not just red coloured primer that fools so many people these days

Was thinking the same. Many places still sell is as 'red oxide primer' too. Surely wrong under trade descriptions?
