Coolant flush after fitting new water pump.

wait how does that work? you stick it into the water pump, hose it down and it comes out the radiator? if that works for flushing all the coolant then that's mighty cool.

Sorry late reply. Yes works a treat. Need to take the thermostat out first and make sure your heater knob is pulled out fully. This back flushes the system and just keep going until it runs clear.
After that I blew back a little on the rad pipe which forces some water back out the thermostat housing just enough to put a litre of blue coolant in.
Thermostat and pipe back on. Job done.

I don't suppose u know what diameter pipe I would need to do that with. I'm guessing I would need to be a pretty flush fit as to not leak. Also when doing this do u need to drain the system before trying to remove the thermostat or do u just pop the top hose off a catch the little bit of over spill. Sorry for the all the Qs

Changed the CTS on my SPi, bit of a git of a job to do too.... most if not all the injection manifold need to be removed to gain access.... also discovered the the manifold heater pipes are full of crud so need replaceing and the heater valve is also FUBAR and siezed up... I did wonder why the heater always blew hot air into the cabin....

Only changed the CTS as the engine is running rich, constantly and over fuelling creating a hesitation and misfire ......

Hopefully sorted now...

Later today, I will be romodelling the centre console as the side parts of it are very worn, but I also want to add switches and a LED digital battery voltage display for the ICE thats installed and for future amps that will be installed...

Got new spindles to order and then those will be filed down to allow better airflow. I enjoy rebuilding carbs

A few days a go I replaced the upper steering column bush, witch proved to be a bit of a sod, but was easily sorted with the help of a pair of hammers and a cable tie. Although the new bush did need 'finishing' before fitting with a craft knife. While they were off I stripped and cleaned the indicator stork, making sure all the contacts were nice and clean. Hopefully its now sorted my interment indicator problem were only occasionally the left hand indicators would go on strike. And before refitting I gave the steering wheel and good going over with some shoe polish. Witch has sort of worked to bring it back, but then the steering wheel has had 32 years worth of use.
