Ive got a wicked Idea. How about instead of NOS Vs Turbo. How about Carb Vs Injection  The proofs in the pudding at the end of the day.

Buy all means hijack, its all got to do with the project. Carry on sir, carry on!

I need some time to write it up, so I will post tomorrow if that's OK? Here are a couple of links to get you started....

http://picasso.org/mjlj/ Megajolt mapped very cheap ignition, built this myself for SU carbed turbo.

http://www.megasquirt.info/ms2/ Megasquirt FAQ. Remember you can't inject the 5 port A series with this unless you use a wet manifold like graham harvey does, (though he uses Emerald - http://www.emeraldm3.../em_ab_em.html).

Fuel injection basics

http://auto.howstuff...l-injection.htm

Get you started anyway!

The SU wins out over the injection on the 5 port because of charge stealing and the fact the injector has to get the fuel in in a very short window with a duty cycle of 62% max unless you use a wet system where the injection becomes just like an electronic analog of the old SU but with an infinately adjustable fuel curve. The entire point of the 7 port head was to allow the superior injection system to be applied to the A series, where you have one port per valve, batch injection is very very simple to implement.

Also to add a wideband will pay for itself, no need for rolling road time unless you want some numbers to talk about in the pub

If I tell you then others will do everything they can to mess it up, so I am keeping quiet until it's printed, sitting in the distrubuters wherehouse and about to hit the shelves! TMF will be the first to know!

Sorry for the late reply guys,

There seems to have been a few more pages added since i last checked?

The orange mini with the sequential box is owned by Nigel Hepburn (check my website)
I built the engine (full race 1380cc with a 38x32mm off-set head) and Mike (MBE) supplied the sequential box.

This runs fuel injection on the 5 port head & Webber alpha ignition with very good results, As do many other serious sprint drivers.

BUT the fuel injection system thats works on a 5 port head is very expensive.
So far i have found a 7 port head using carbs has very little gain over a 5-port.

It seems to me, im going in the wrong direction with all this. A case of (me see, me like, me want) well i will have to think long and hard. Many thanks to everyone for their ideas.
