My fixing is not going well!

I picked up a replacement headlight adjustment motor from Dale in the hope I could get the offside working. Fitted that and it still doesn't work. It's a pretty simple circuit, all that I'm missing is a 12v at the motor from the fusebox. It's getting to the nearside, just not the offside. That means somewhere after that wire splits away from the other motor and switch, there is a break or something. It's all wrapped up in the loom so I'm not sure theres much I can do about it. >_<

Cant you just run another wire along the loom ?

I was thinking that Nige. A simple 12v supply would solve it, and once it had been fitted a while I would just forget about it. Just at the moment, I can't bring myself to 'modify' the system

Bad bit: my CD player has stopped working, so I have a week of boring loooong motorway drives ahead of me!

Good bit: Bits have been arriving! I've had a few parcels, and theres some more to come. Yayyyy.

My steering column cowl has had a super annoying rattle at 2500rpm. That's about bang on 60mph, where I do most of the steady speed driving! The rattle was due to several of the tabs that hold it all together being broken. I bought a new one, but I'm not sure the previous owner was particular coordinated with their keys, so I'm still looking for another good condition one. Thankfully it's not something you really see, so the rattle-free benefit greatly outweighs the cosmetic damage cost.

Since fitting the alloy door handles, I had wanted to get hold of a foil logo airbag, the type fitted to the later MPis, to carry the shininess further in to the car. This one was cheap and fitted okay, no SRS light on, so seems good!

The old look wheel:

I also have a replacement steering wheel on the way, same colours and pattern, to replace mine that I wrecked trying to load wood in to the car!

All little things, but it's nice to be playing with the car! I think the inlet manifold can wait until the engine comes out again to have the rattle and leak fixed, again!

Why not repaint the rattle free steering cover?

A quick squirt of satin black and job done.

(my usual solution to a rattly steering cover is insulation tape!!)

Good point Shifty. I can test on my old broken one. All my old Minis had taped together cowls

James ol' son, can you clarify something with the breather issues - is it only when the engine's warmed up, or hot and cold?

CHeers.

Hey Oli. Both I believe, although we only did the leak down on the warm engine. Are you having issues?

Not sure on mine. Just checked all the hoses, and there's air getting in and out on both sets. We're yours blocked as in unable to get any air at all?

Have a sneaky suspicion mine is the fuel pump not keeping up a spark plugs are all white with a hint of brown, and the idle is still kicking around, engine sounds starved when you try and pull away.

My system was modified due to excessive crankcase pressure. A by-product of blocking the two original pipes on the inlet manifold means it's breathing purely via the air filter inlet route and the engine can do whatever it likes.

Pulling away was my issue, mucky air and badly set iacv seemed to be the issues as it seems okay now. Wasn't the diff worn after all >_<

It was just set up as a test but it seems to be working for now

MOT'd for another year, no advisories
