£990 for a Fiat Seicento? You must be mad, there's better cars for the money. I know it's just for a run about, but what about a 1.25 Zetec Fiesta? 1.0l Micra etc?

Got it for 945. It's very low mileage and lovely condition and it is in a convenient place to be put up to me on the ferry! Can always re -sell if I don't get on with it! I had a cheap micra.... it rusted, and caused me a lot of problems. This has been used so little it has never had the tyres changed yet! And I've still got Tiny for looking cool!

Its even in surf blue! :P

Looks like a funky little car!

....have you 0-60ed it yet!!

My run about / daily drive is a 4.2 V8 Audi A8 :P But I need something smart for work. I wouldn't recommend it if your on a fuel budget though!

Alex Crosse just bought an old Astra 1.6 8v. That seems in your budget.

I have a 04 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI. Perfect for the 70mile round commute to work every day whilst the mini is off the road.

i can give you a hint what not to get, done buy a rover i have a rover 400 for work & every day use its the worst car i have ever driven and as i used to work in a garage i have driven a lot of different car. its not that any thing is broken the car is actually in very good condition its just so dull and lifeless to drive it does near to no miles per gallon despite only being a 1.4 and i get busses pulling away from the lights quicker than me.

It's a great little car - Mine was an 899cc, but would sit nicely on the motorway at 70, no problem. :P

Would my memory be correct if I said that Mini magazine did a comparison between a Seicento and a Mini years ago?
