Hi Carlos,

tricky repair by the look of it. How do you get your welds that 'oblong ', mine are all round when pulse welding. How are you going to clean up in the gutter, looks a bugger to get discs to !!

It's not my welding, it's my mates!

But, he moves the welder from left to right whilst pulsing!

The spit made it easier to change the angle and get the grinder in!

I'll get a pic of it ground back!

The problem is, the Mrs is on nights next weekend, and the bedroom is above the garage, so I can't make any noise or it keeps her awake, the weekend after I'm in Newcastle, and the one after that I'm in Cambridge!

I may get in on Friday afternoon and plug weld around the rear wheel arch

Glad to see that roof corner went to good use

It took a bit of fiddling, but far easier than fabricating my own

Carlos roof repairs are a nightmare. Getting the torch down into the corner is nearly impossible. Looks good.

Thanks Hugh, next task is to get the car out the garage, sweep the car out then turn the car around so the other rear 1/4 can go on

Also trying to sell a few bits on Ebay as I'm short of cash!

I've had the car 2 years next month!

Scary

Finally got into the garage yesterday got the mini out to turn it around, swept the garage floor and had a bit of a tidy up.

Then cracked on with the near side rear 1/4

Posted Image

Pulling the edge in tight whilst plug welding down the front edge

It fitted far better than the other side.

Then we went out to a bbq and had a few strongbows.

I need to fix the handbrake on the Mazda today so can't get back into the garage, and the wife is on nights next weekend so once she's up I'll go down and use the last of the welding gas up which isn't enough to finish the job off but I'm too tight to order a new bottle until I've used what's in this one.

Next to buy is

Inner wings
Outer wings
Front Panel
Solid front subframe mounts

I'm going to go with a genuine front end, as everyone says they fit much better.

Hi Carlos,

rear qtr looks to have gone on really well, a nice job. The spit pole does look a funny angle though, mine is horizontal through the mini and it spins straight. Does your set up spin to give you more room in a particular area or is the supports each end different heights??

Hi Graham, the drive is on a bit of an angle so it makes the pole look worse.

The car naturally wants to sit the correct way up.

The supports are both the same height.

Another day at it and that 1/4 will be done!

I don't know where the time goes Scott!

I've had the car for 2 years now.

I had a sense of actually getting somewhere yesterday when the panel went on fairly easily.

Just been pricing up half inner wings, solid front subframe mounts and a genuine front end, not much change out of 500 quid!

I'm too busy with OT at work, house work & trying to sort little problems with my father in laws motor home at the moment. I've been in the garage 4 times in the last month, just to put something in there then carry on. I'll probably get time . . . during winter! :(
