Today has been very productive! The tap in the kitchen has been replaced after not working for about a month (so that's the Mrs kept happy)

Then down to the garage to sort the hole where the damper mounts.

carefully removing the panel

Painted with weld through primer

Posted Image

Made up a new one and welded it in.

I'm going to get in from the otherside and get plenty of paint then waxoyl down there.

Then, I couldn't resist giving the calipers a coat of paint

It was far too cold to paint in there so I'll get them in the oven at some point to warm them up, then give them their final coat.

The oven needs cleaned, in other news the calipers are all finished. I took to warming them up a little, then spraying them whilst leaning out of the window, then back into the oven.

I need to sort new pistons, seals, bolts and bleed nipples now.

I need to post some items I've sold on eBay then into the garage for a tidy up and to see if there's anytrhing worth listing on eBay, it is free listing weekend after all!

Well, that's the garage tidy enough for the plumber to get to the boiler on Monday morning, I also did some grinding back of welds, nothing really worth photographing.

Door step join ground back, a tiny bit more to do maybe!

Offered the wing up to the inner wing, and it needs adjusting!

I'm going to get my new subframe mounts, bolt the front panel on, clamp the inner wings to it then see how close it all is!

Hi mate, like the sound of doing it right!

But please get yourself some gloves (gauntlets) and wear that face mask every time you use the grinder or anything that flings hot or cold metal. No point having a car if you can't see! Whilst I'm on the safety trip you might as well get some ear defenders, it's far less tiring for some reason when your ears aren't getting battered by an angle grinder/hammer etc

Regarding the subframe, underseal over powdercoating is probs your best bet, it'll look tidy if you get it right but not pretty ^^ If you use the right brand it'll set slightly soft but dry, less likely to chip and should protect the coats underneath a bit better - layer it on.

Look forward to progress!

By underseal i hope you mean one of the later ones - Waxoyl/Dinitrol/Bilt Hamber/whatever and not the old bitchemous stuff that trapped water behind it after a few years!

Whatever you use - inspect it EVERY YEAR (end of the summer before it gets too cold to get underneath) I usualy top it up every year as well!

Ive just posted a Diagram of where to inject cavities on another thread

I've got a bottle of gravitex stone chip, I think that's the route I'm going to go! And I thought a good jet wash and inspect underneath every year would be good! The car is just going to be a toy so won't be doing mega miles!

The toys usually get better looked after than the daily drivers!

Hugh, thanks for your comments! The frost has been here all day in the shade! I'll be back in the garage on Thursday with the heater on!

I want to paint inside the inner sills and door step!

Well, I've had 3 days off on my new shift pattern so today I've been to Asda, defrosted the freezer and.............................

Painted the inside of the inner sills with hammerite, along with the inside of the outer sill.

It's all seam sealed too, so hopefully the 22nd (my birthday) I can get the sills on!

I'm off next Thursday and Friday so I can get the rest of the toe board stripped and painted, and the bottom of the bulk head.

It really does feel like I'm making progress for once

Well, sills went on today, but I've only taken one pic of a weld!

A bit of finishing off to do and then on to THE FRONT END
