subframe fitted

Front Panel bolted to it

It looks like a car again

I need more clamps

I modified this bonnet to check the gaps down the side!
More fettling needed, but it's not a million miles away! The error I made was I should've waitied until I had the wings before fitting both the inner wings, but you live and learn!

front end looking pretty good for a first fit and nothing a good hammering wont fix. Make sure you have the subby in all the time as mine tightened up slightly in the end, a few mm make a missive difference when trying to fit new bushes !! Colour will be a brave choice, too brave for me lol.
Have you been on Fleabay for your bits my man ??

Hugh, the wings aren't as far away as I thought they would be, and if I'd waited and fitted both half inner wings at the same time as the outers like I did with one side everything would be pretty much spot on, but you live and learn.
You're not the first person to tell me this, and thanks for the advice. Unfortunately the bonnet is in Blackpool at my dads in storage, and I'm in Kent. I'll have the bonnet down here before the front end is fully welded in place, but for now I had to use what I had.might want to use the bonnet you will be final fitting to gap the front up, i made that mistake and paid for it later
Happy new year, the aim for the year is to get the car in primer.

I like the look of those numberplate bolts with lights in them, so that's what I'll be using hopefully

I've never used it before, and I really want to progress with the project. Since my change in jobs I've got less weekends (when my mate is around to help me) so I need to crack on when I'm off during the week with other bits. We've got a day of front end fitting planned a week on Sunday.
So, I thought I'd give it a go

I've got a load more work to do, especially at the top and bottom, and it's going to need another skim at least. But I'm pleased with progress so far.
I haven't started lower down, I need to buy a load more wet and dry before I can go much further as I'm using 80 grade on this at first. I also want to get some high build primer.
I've just primered over the top to cover the exposed metal

sanding is a pain in the a$%e !! However you seem to be getting plenty of practice at it. Looking fine to me but the primer will tell you how far you have to go with it. Have you got much to do over the car ??
Sure you will get further than primer over the year in your nice warm dry garage !!

I need some finer wet and dry and a proper sanding block as I was only playing today!
