Not a bad idea, certainly won't do any harm.

I like a bit of variety!

I may have a go at them tomorrow!

Hi there, nice project and looks like your doing a cracking job, just a message to give you some advice on getting the roller bearings out the top arms, I did it my way which I'll list below and it worked just fine.

1: Get a strong flat headed screwdriver and prize the rollers out of the bearing casings.
2: Clean bearing caseings with carb cleaner, white spirit to remove dirt and grease of the casing.
3: Get your welder and weld 2 big blobs 1 either side of the caseing.
4: Get you drift from opposite side and use the weld blobs to drift the caseings out.
5: once removed clean arms out apply grease and press new bearings in with your vice tapered side down.
You might need to weld blobs 2 or 3 times as they might snap off whilst drifting but this method worked for me, I hope you understand what I'm on about lol.

Thanks mate, I understand exactly what you're on about!

I'll give this a go!

This is what I love about the mini forum, you'd never get this level of detail in a Haynes Manual

De-bumpered front end.

The quality of this was very poor, the bottom lip was as flat as the Alps!

There are a couple of minor imperfections which the primer has shown up, but I'll sort those tomorrow.

Hi Carlos I don't look on the forum much now but thought I'd have a wee look to see how some of my old 'Forum Friends' were doing. It's all looking good. You are doing a more careful job than I did. Keep going you'll soon be there. It's exciting when they go again!

Well today didn't go exactly to plan!

A mate of mine who is more into bikes than cars came round to see me and I got distracted!

What followed was we decided to change the head gasket on the bike, I've been meaning to do this for ages, the MOT runs out in April and I intended on getting it tested a couple of weeks early and flogging it with full MOT

But, one of the nuts just wouldn't come off, I tried everything I could think of, so he's taken it away and he's going to sort it!

Back to the mini!

This corner is done! I'll hopefully finish the rear valance tomorrow
