I think its a brilliant idea. The only thing to be careful of is stability. Some of the old ones we have at work are less than perfect with a human in. I am sure it will be fine though.A man with a plan as ever!
For 16 quid Clive, it has to be worth a go! Also, you can bring the wheels in and out so it'll easily fit in between the car wheels

Excellent idea! I can see the prices of people cranes soar now.
I bid on quite a few engine cranes on Ebay, this one didn't say engine in the title and I kind of stumbled across it.
I just hope it's got the height to clear the front panel

I don't get some people. When I had a vw camper I was after a glove box lid and searched like you said just out of boredom a few times. I came across a lot of 'wv bits' including a lid but also a couple of splitty steering boxes and a load of other bits. I paid ten quid and sold the steering boxes for £200 a week later on eBay.hmmm, just stumbled across it eh? Any late night eBay habits you care to admit to?Excellent idea! I bought a pair of Vauxhall Wyvern rear wheel cover arch things for 99p on Ebay. They were titled Classic Cars Parts.
A week later I re-listed them on a 10 day auction and within 3 hours I had a man asking if I had a buy it now price. I told him to make me an offer I couldn't refuse. He came back and said £200.
That night, there he was with £200 and away he went happy as anything.

Massive day yesterday in terms of progress
THE MINI IS OFF THE SPIT
I've cleaned and primered the engine bay and we had some fun trial fitting the boot
Had a little windfall so a big Minispares order is coming.
More next week!
I wanted to get the engine bay painted today, but I need to sort the bonnet mounting points for securing the fibreglass bonnet first
