regarding webers on 998's, i had one prior to changing to the new engine and it ran pretty well, awesome compared to standard baby su. it was 998 + 20 thou, and only had extractors with no other work done. used the weber as had one laying around and didnt have twin su's to compare but it easily went to the 100mph on the speedo (160 kmh here in Oz) and would rev to about 5500 rpm, not amazing i know but it was a 1977 998 engine after all.

cheers

by the way, those bumpers look really nice, only just found them on the web the other day, very tempting :)

Yeah they were :/

They tuck nearly 7 weeks for them to be sent and there not amazing quality there little holes in the lacquer every were

And when you try and phone them you can't get through and they don't answer emails. :/

Well I'm going home this weekend and the mini won't be coming back with me. So its go go go to get the engine in now :)

Although my weber are still set up totally wrong so for the first 500 miles I'm gonna run a 5 port head to run the bottom end in and then I'll get my rolling road to set the 7port head up and sort my webers out

oh and in boring news just in case anyone cares, i sat on a necluor reactor today :) right on top of, there amazing bits of kit, but the heat it was putting out even though its be switched of for nearly 20 months was unreal.

i love being a submariner at times when you can see random stuff like that

So no plans for any kids in the future then eh??....Very cool thing to do though!!. When I was working at RAF ************ they let me sit in one of the Tornado jets when it was in the hanger for repair. Took me ages to pursuade the security guys to look the other way...I was there when the jets arrived years ago to replace the ageing Buccaneers. I didnt get the security systems finnished in time and they had to put 23 Tornado's in one hanger.....It was a tight squeeze. I was not very popular for a couple of days....

Like the cabon bumpers, hope they fit ok. Looks like your pooch likes them too!!

Edit: Removed the Base name....just in case!!!

i got the front bumpers on yesterday, were a bit of a pain, will get some pics up soon

i cant get the rear one on because i decided last night after a beer it was a good idea to start replacing the rear hinge pannel, so i chopped that out, spent the morning felting it to fit so ill weld it in next weekend,

and i decided to bit the bullet and see how much of a hole was in my roof. and i wish id no bothered its massive, and i can nearly got my hand in it :/

but ahh well.

managed to underseal half the underneath of the car and got loads of outher boring bits done like painting the fuel tanks and re doing some wirring

The roof wont be too bad...once you make up a repair patch just remember to only weld a wee bit at a time so as not to distort the shape. A bit of filler and no one will ever know you were there....But then your used to sneeking around in your sub ..lol

nah i had that purple clubman for a while, but i decided not to fit it to that shell, ended up building it up with a running engine and 12 month mot and selling it.

im home on friday so im gonna pick up some gas and start welding and try and get it done this weekend :)
