are you going to clean up the engine bay at all? looks abit dirty:)
and those webers definatly deserve a thorough clean up because those beauties deserve pride of place, right after the 7 port head, of course:)

well shes till not running after a day on it
had probllems with it not turning over so tried anouther starter motor sprayed wd40 on the starter to help it spin up which helped clutch bolts are to long so were stopping it.
erm what else had to cut teh front pannel as well for the air filters to fit.
fuel lines are in facet fuel pump and filter king are instaled and working
timming on teh dizzy was out so need to do that and i need to do the tappets as well as i think there not spot on.
but shes spinning nicely now, and she nearly firred but she was over fueled and flooded so wouldnt, so atm ive taken the carbs of, so i can remove the plugs and let them dry out.
and thats all really

ended up re doing the timming in the car, which was a nightmare, and my duplex timing gear set has the dots the wrong way round, compared it to my mates, and the dots are tottaly diffrent, so thats prob not helped it, so sorted that out re set the dizzy in again, re fitted plugs and carbs, sorted out a throttle cable, did every thing to get it going, and nothing
had spark at the plugs had my mate trying to get it to go with turning dizzy.
deffently had fuel
but it just wouldnt start
only issue you i got is that it might be over fueling to fast which swamps the plugs which means no spark?
and its just struggling to spin up its not over tight but its tight which is what id expect from a fresh engine build.
every thing internally has been replaced withg brand new, so that explains it being tight.
what im thinking i could do is put my 5 port head on with my hiff 44, get it running and get the bearings run in a bit, and then in may when slark said they could rolling road it take it up and ask them to fit the head and carbs and get it running propperly saves me doing any damage to the head while im trying to get it started now.
argh its so disapointing

roll on rivi run now just want to have a bit of fun in my mini,

You sure it's timing right?
What I do to make sure spark it right, is stick the car in 2nd or 3rd, looking at the bottom pulley, pop plug 1 out and leave it on the block earthed. Push the car back and forth and get the spark to go at TDC, then you know you're atleast somewhere close and can adjust from there. Dizzy isn't 180 degrees out is it? i don't know how many times I did that.
Hope you get it going buddy.

its got spark and its sparkign at the right plug, but its like to start an old mini with a dead battery theres just no umf in the battery to get it started.
and im using my dads battery which i borrowed of my dads landy, its massive, and thats turning it but its not fast enougth
well im not back home for 2 weeks as im duty this weekend coming, i will have it running for rivi 5 port or 7 port she will run

check for volt drop across the cables, battery to body batery to solenoid, solenoid to starter & engine to body,
I had a look at a mini a couple of weeks ago that wouldnt start, the short cable form the batery to the boot floor (which looked fine) was dropping 3.5V!! so there wasnt enough voltage/current getting to the starter.

and ive made the dession that the 7 port head is coming of, gonna put my outher 5 port head on and my hif 44.
the valves arent as big as my 7 port head but thats ok im just gonna take it nice and slowly, get some miles on teh clock.
and then ill take the car with head and carbs to my rollign road session, and say pritty please fit these and make it go brum

outher than that, car just needs a bloody good clean and tidy up.
disapointed with hows its all eneded up. but not alot i can really do
