Hi Dave,

I did think about getting an ATB but decided cross pin should be ok as its not going to massive power and its not going to have massive torque like a turbo does.

I dont blame you wanting to show off your Kad lump, and nevermind the perspex bonnet just leave it off.

When you say full race what sort of BHP and torque you aiming for with that? I think it will be alot more than the 100BHp I'am after.

Mines being built for 145bhp and thats fast road.

Full race will be with the big valve head and throttle bodies most probably? Looking at 160-190bhp

You having all steel bottom end? crank,rods and forged pistons?

And a staright cut dog box?

I'm having all the bells and whistles, obviously with the big valve head and race cams, en40b crank and Kad steel rods, we are also going for the mega light bike type pistons, half the weight of omegas, ally flywheel. I already run weber alpha mappable ignition and good gearbox and the car is pretty much ready chassis wise for the power. hoping for around the 190's. Should be a giggle.

Should be fantastic and in race car power to weight should be fantastic.

Love the look of the car............why dont they do road leagal tyres in the same size as slicks.

Unfortunately there isn't a build thread for it. I built it about 12 years ago and have been developing it ever since. I agree it would be lovely to see a road car sit as wide but it would be a bit of a pig to drive as i reckon t would follow every white line.


Power to weight should be good with the KAD motor and the chassis is about ready for the extra grunt

Car looks great mate.

will be hard to improve on it, but I suppose the Kad lump might just about do it. lol

Hi Danny not done anything on the car recently but I have made a little more progress on the engine

All timing gear now set and torqued up


Put on ultaralight flywheel clutch and backplate


This is how it stands at the moment need to get Gasket for timinig chain cover (lost in garage somewhere)




When do you think you will have your 7 port up and running?

well i had it all in the car and up and running almost, and then i wipped teh head of to check the gasket and it had blown but it had blown and cracked the block.

phoned teh machine shop and they said if i could find anouther block and drop the old block and new block of they would sort it for me.

and im still waiting for my block to come back to me now.

but atm im ready for it to be all bolted to gether everythign is painted and just waiting on the short block.


what jets and chokes are you running in your 40's as ive got mine apart atm and teh jets which are in it are massive as well as teh chokes. so i know i need to change them at some point to get it running.

would be wicked if once weve both got our 7 ports runnign to meet up like

Yes would be cool to meet up once they are running.

Dont know what jets are in the carbs as I bought the head and carbs as a kit so just hoping they will be somewhere near enough to get it started and down to the rolling road to get it set up.

jets and chokes were massive in my carbs so im gonna drop it of to my rollign road guy and get himt o get it sorted that way if is washes the bores, he can fix it

well which ever one of us gets to the rolling road first will have to tell the other one what we are using if only to get a starting point

Well this project has stood still for a while as I have been working on my Hornet, well it hasnt stood still its gone backover as I nicked the engine and subframe for the Hornet so going to have to start again for this one.

well as the Hornet is nearly finnished I can now start and concentrate my efforts on this,So this is all I have done recently started making and putting together my internal gear linkage kit. going to finish the shell and trial fit everthing before striping down again to paint.

With that gear linkage, isn't it meant to be full of grease?
