If it's your only car then it's going to be difficult, but not impossible. The Quinny Zap - Click Here is designed to fit in an aicraft overhead locker as hand luggage, so it fits in the boot of the classic mini quite easily, it's only suitable from 6 months old though, but you don't actually need a buggy initially as you can use a Baby Carrier - Click Here until then. I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old and cope fine, I can fit me the wife, the kids, the buggy and all their paraphernalia in my mini quite easily. It just takes some planning and little getting used to! You really don't have to sell your mini unless you want to... I didn't!! :D

Just take out the passenger side seat, As she will be in the back with the baby, wont she?

Then have the pram where the seat used to be and just put bungie ties to hold it down when its folded?

Then it easy access for you and your girlfriend to get the baby in and out and also you can strap in the baby easier.

Plus, if worried about safety then fit in a small roll cage?

at your age i'd say pretty much any car you get will be just as dangerous in a big smash, unless you have a big bank balance for a brand new car and insurance to go with it? i'd say stick with the mini and make do, there's gonna be lots of other things to spend your money on soon enough, baby's aint cheap so think car is least of your worries, keep the mini :D

Thousands (probably hundreds of thousands) of Children have been carried in Mini's over the years - myself included. In those days, rear seat belts were uncommon and child seats even more so. Most children were carried completely unrestrained. My parents had rear seat belts fitted to all their cars - but that was unusual! Times have changed!

Sure, some children have tragically been injured or killed, but the same is true of other cars. However, it is fair to say that a Mini isn't as safe as a modern car. If you decide to carry your baby (and later child) in a Mini, then you have to weigh up the risks. I have a seven year old, and he does ride in my Mini.

As far as getting all of the stuff you are going to need in a Mini, it will be difficult! You'll be amazed at the sheer amount of stuff you have to carry with you - however, as the child gets older the amount of stuff decreases. You could take the passenger seat out. This frees up an amazing amount of space, and then you'll be able to put the pushchair and other stuff there. However, it does mean that you will be limited to carrying just yourself, your Girlfriend and the baby. It's doable, but not easy to be honest.

Quinny Zap fits easily as said above, if you want a complete travel sytem then go for the Concord Neo. That's what we've got and why we got it. Might need to make sure you are using a 5 1/2 gallon tank to fit the buggy chassis in with the seat attached to it. Minis are not unsafe. Get retracting belts in the back and the Neo travel cot fits, although this might not be the safest as the head end will be close to the side panel which Concord say is not safe (if it's on one end of a 3 seat bench the head must be in the middle so it's not just a Mini thing). The Concord baby seat will fit front or back but if you are using genuine original rear belts you will have to have a 300mm or so longer webbing made for it, I can give you details of who can do that if you need. Our baby is fine with our Mini.

A much easier solution would be to keep the car and get the kid adopted :D

sell the child, get another mini :D

In all seriousness though, I would get a more modern car, you can always get another mini, you cant get another baby (well you can but its not quite the same)

My reccomendations, something with tall doors, 5 door ignis would be perfect, except its ugly,

If my missus was expecting or had a small child just for peace of mind, ease of packing all the baby junk and practacality Ide keep an eye out for something more modern, to keep up with todays traffic etc. I'm not saying a brand new car, but something late 90s like a 406,a4,passat etc. They are all within the same price range of what you would get for your mini.

At the end of the day its only a car.
