As someone has mentioned it would come under section 5 public order which is an arrestable offence. Plus swearing in public, be that in writing or speech can cause harassment alarm or distress (has to be 2 or more people) which is grounds for the arrest under section 5.

The officer was doing you a favour by making you aware that subject to a complaint from a member of the public you can and will be arrested for such a sticker. If you choose not to heed the advice of the officer who is paid to police the law and probably knows his job alot better than you do then so be it.

Think about that for a minute will you instead of bleating on about him being a jobsworth.

I hate some police as much as the next guy.. but you got to think maybe the police man wanted you to remove the sticker for your own saftey... I mean come on think about how many immagrents we have...

Personally (and I'm 25 not an old fart) I would be expecting to get a ticking off by a policeman if I had a sticker on my car with a swear word on it. We have all been brought up differently but in my parents house there was never any swearing and we never saw any need for it. My grandad used to get evil eyes looks for saying bloody, I cant deny I swear at work probably every day but when I have a kid I'm certainly not going to be teaching them to swear- and I would be annoyed if he/she saw swear words printed over someones car or anywhere.

I may have old fashioned morals, but I'm proud to have been brought up with them and dont see how it is appropriate to be offensive in public

I won't be removing it anyway, and as for section 5. It isn't abusive or threatening at all. The sticker is aimed at Classic minis being 'true' and the german minis being 'S***'. Offensive to a car, wow, this world is crazy.
And if anybody would class this sticker as racist, then fine I am racist. Yes, I am racist for saying that the BMW mini is, in my opinion, S***. So am I racist equally for thinking that Australian Wine is awful, or thinking my Foreign TV is rubbish??
