Overbore by .020 givers you 1014cc
.040 - 1030cc
.060 - 1046cc

A massive 48cc of power can be gained from full over-bore hahahahaha

If that was the full overbore you would be correct, but its less than half of what you can do.....

if i remember rightly that is what he told me when i asked

could be wrong martin can correct me if he wishes

but i think 998 with a + 40 is enough

I think minispares recently started selling +80 pistons for the 998 as well.

Yup the Pistons in the Imp are larger, you then use +20 or +40 (I believe) Imp pistons, on a 1098 crank.

This mod means you are overboring more than +130 thou, pretty impressive. I'm currently doing a build with +120 thou. I'm using the standard 998 crank stroke with some +120thou pistons i come out with a 1096! nearly 100cc, over original and reasonably inexpensive.....no replacement for CC's, as they used to say!

Having said that if we stuck via that logic none of us would be running small bores anyway so that makes everything redundant :/

you can get the +120's from Australia, prices pretty good, delivery didn't take too long either.

I know when I had my engine pocketed by martin (mra minis) he had a piston on a shelf that wouldn’t look out of place as a waste paper bin.
