just a quick line and piccie, I managwd to put in the freeflow and connected him up with the rest of the exhaust, bolted on the new inlet manifod and trial fitted the Hif38,

a bit tight at the back, might have to use a longer engine steady (1275 after 1990), an extra 5mm would do just fine, or make a small cut in the bulk head and shape it in a bit,,,,,, ;D also the heater water will get connected to the inlet manifold, we will see tmz

Just spent about an hour reading most of this haha, great job restoring it and great car you got there!

Can you tell me how much you paid for the re-spray? I'd love to get mine done professionally but not sure I have the funds :mmkay:

Hi Ell,

it all depends how much work is done before you get yr mini to be painted, if all filling and flatting is done, and just spraying I would say between £450-£650, however most professional painters want to finish filling anf flatting themselves as they know where to look for, then you are looking between £800-£1000, pending on paints too. Check with STREET TWEAKS on here,he is the man.....

Hey markje, well I had a go with him this morning, not happy as yet,...the needle in the carb is to lean so changing from a standart AEM Hif38 needle to a AAU needle this afternoon, reset all timing, tuning and Co2 and give him a go tmz if wheather permits, if all fails, I will get my loyal HS4 back on the new Stage 1 Set-up.
I am looking to build a twin HS4 set-up to, got all the bits just need to sit down and get that puzzle started.....

Ì think your ebetter of with the HS4 for now and a weaker spring will work also nice as well, tested it out with the 1098 unit,i think also the twin hs4 will gite the engine a bit to much petrol,hs2 will be a better giving a better performance i suppose
