the parts no good there mate?
Hey Tom, hope you had a good time there, well you probably spend a few pennies in Malvern.
I got back last night from my Euro Trip, all went well but Muk used a lot of oil(2 litres over 1645miles). I gave Muk a deserved good wash behind his ears and started to check the engine, I noticed a lot of clean oil on the Block to Gearbox lip. Meaning both Tappet Covers at the rear of the engine had moved a little and that was the reason. OK on Short journeys but janking for hours on the Motorway at 75-80 Mph build up the oil pressure and when oil is hot and thin it started to leak.
So this afternoon half the engine out, cleaned the lot and replaced the cork seals with new ones, I hope that that was all it was, bit of gum-gum around the exhaust joint and give him a go.

howdy mate did you have a good time? sorry to ear about the engine hopefully it turns out to be nothing worser then new gaskets?
Tom, really, Muk preformed great, not his fault the gaskets where worn, he certainly passed the endurance test doing over 1600 miles in a few days, through all wheathers on flat roads (France-Holland), bumpy roads (belgium), hilly roads(Ardennes and Eifel), and speeding near the Nurmburg ring, most trips where anything from 2 hours to 12 hours.

1.new cork seals on tappet covers (oil Leak)
2. re-sealed all the exhaust joints after taking apart to get to tappet plates
3. reset the dizzy points to dwell 54(was 68)
4. re-set timing, moved to correct position(was 6 degrees retarded?)
5. tuned the carb after as this was to high on CO2
All done now and sounds and looks good, taking him for a spin later
