i went to them today and asked about re-upholstering my seats and they said they wouldnt do full re-upholsters and only repairs, got very confused when i said that you said they did your mayfair interior and then said they hadnt done a mayfair interior :S very confused on that one lmao

heres a wee update of tonights work :

tee brought some big assed tyres from his work and wee flipped the mini on its side :xxx:
Posted Image

then started seam sealing the floors
my welding
Posted Image

tee's welding
Posted Image
quite a difference in the proffesionals welding and mine

repairs to the rear floor pan
Posted Image
Posted Image

got a couple of pics of the front right sill and the left hand side that ive partially cut out now
Posted Image
Posted Image

whoever last did the repairs on the sills needs beaten round the head several times, not even welded on in many places and i could basically just tear it off and they didnt even remove the old sill ffs, aww well im probably just goin to buy one sill and use it to repair both sides

a little bit of an update, tee has left his welder over since he is away helping set up a show for a couple of weeks so ive tried to get a bit done but not as much as i would have liked, ive got the rear seat bit repaired as the was a small hole and all the surrounding metal had alot of surface rust and was a bit too thin so it was all cut out and i spent a couple of hours attempting 3 patches until i was happy with the last one :(
Posted Image

then cut out a couple of sections of the floor as they were just rotten and started to patch them
Posted Image

yesterday me and my dad made the journey to the middle of no where some where near belfast to see a guy about re-upholstering my seats, i was very impressed with his work so ive left them with him and they will be done in a few weeks cus he is going on holiday, he had just nearly finished his mini van and gave me £50 odd worth of paints and primers and a heater as well for free and he also has a sill in his work so im also getting that so i can fix my sills
when we where stripping apart the seats some dutch money fell out aswell, along with around 5 pens and some other crap ;)

all opinions welcome

thanks, Adam

haha thanks :) its not as good as i would like it to be but its good enough until i just learn to get it neater :)

whats the first mini show of the year?

if you join the ni-minis forum theres a section that has all the shows that will be on, theres already been a couple but i havent been to them, theres shanes castle on sunday and monday which i cant go to cus dad decided he was goin to fermanagh so im just goin out nd gettin pissed at the regent pre-formal tommorow :)

if you cant get it sorted out you can take it to alan lemon on the portaferry road, he is a bit of a mini wizz and he doesnt charge alot, i want his mk1 cooper s though even though it needs a full resto or his riley elf or the engine from his other mini :)

plans are to get it looking very retro and standard-ish
im not goin to do much with the engine, just replace the clutch
lighten the flywheel in tech
im considering gettin a 12g202 head of a mates scrap mini and putting it on
also considering twin carbs cus the guy doing my interior has twins but i dont know what type they are yet lol

car will be sprayed blue (not sure what colour blue yet) with a silver roof and silver cooper s reverse rims with no arches

i will be picking up my interior on sunday afternoon and the pics of the rear seats i got look awesomee :) :P

a bit of an update of what ive got done over the last couple of days:

finished patching the floor to heel board area and that patch was a bit of a pain, had to weld it before it was even on the car so i could keep everything looking original underneath even though no one will see it really :xxx:
Posted Image
Posted Image

the next patch took 5 little patches to keep it looking original and proper and i had to cut out a previous patch to do it properly
Posted Image

started this patch on the boot floor, got it plug welded on and tacked on
Posted Image

the i ran out of gas so thats me bugered till tuesday cus of work and bank holidays when my dad can go get the bottle re-filled while im at tech :)

not much left to do on the body:
patch a couple more areas, a couple of them will be a ******* to patch but it will get done
repair sills when i get the sill to cut up to what i need
weld on rear valance and closing panels
weld on the front end
:D

all opinions welcome

thanks, Adam :D

not really got alot done cus ive been stuck in bed since tuesday when something hit me hard, wednesday the local company thats was getting in my flywheel puller foned me and i was feeling a bit better so cycled down and that wasnt a good idea but got the flywheel off later that day :) it only took 2seconds to do surprisingly, it just popped off and im glad im replacing the clutch on it :P
Posted Image

went last night to try get some parts off a few scrap minis a mate has, didnt have that long but managed to get a mph speedo, front wiring loom and a few other small bits, wiring loom and speedo wer a pain to do but also found and original scissor jack :) not sure if its from a mini but still and i also got an original owners service manual which i was quite surprised at :P

just a small update, ive not really got much done cus i was waiting on more welding gas but got some finally :)

made this hole alot bigger cus it started a little small patch and then i wasnt happy with the metal around it so i cut the rest out ;)
Posted Image

finished welding in this patch
Posted Image

did 2 patches here on the wheel arch and on the boot floor, unfortunately due to me being very stupid at the time i cut off the bracket that the petrol tank screws onto ;) just gona have to be careful and weld in on again :)
Posted Image

i then started cutting an oversill i had been given into a proper sill and mocked it up abit :)
Posted Image
still needs some cut off so it will line up with the original :)

also went and got this beast :)
Posted Image

i hope to god i dont need much of it :)

also my doorcards are being done aswell at the moment so i should hopefully get them sometime this week :)

all comments welcome

thanks, Adam
