austin thats a good point i hadnt thought about the mot.

i had seen it in miglias and thought it a good idea as i used to find the harnesses rattling the eye bolts quite anoying with no rear seat.

when i saw strut brace its not actually a strut brace more a bar betwwen the 2 arches but it will be inside the car between the 2 roll cage legs so it will be bloody strong just depends on the mot regs i guess.

i have the kits to recondition my own arms, i can use a reamer at work to do the outer bronze bush, its just the other one has warn the bush and the cast iron away, dont think they would take it for an exchange anyway.

i didnt end up getting the tube in the end as it was in the wrong wall thickness.

so i phoned up roll center and am going to get it from them, its about £10 a meter but at least its the proper CDS.

ive taken a few more pictures of some of the stuff i have been getting, more of the pistons and clutch because i like them so much!lol:

i dont think they are that expensive for what you get, they are as good as new now. im still yet to weigh them but they feel a lot lighter than standard.

im going for a full mk1 slider, ive got them on order but there is a 2 week lead time on them.

the bare streetfighter door weighs in at 6kg compared to a complete door weighing 18kg id say that the hinges door handle window and all there latches will weigh about 2kg at a rough guess.

so thats 10kg saved per door.

Not bad at all!!

I am hoping to have some normal aluinium sheet soon, so going to have a go at making them myself...

Where are you ordering your windows from? as I am after some, was going to make them myself, but if there is somewhere better.....

making your own? your brave, i would think that it would be extreamly difficult to get the correct curve and keep all the panel gaps.

i think you can buy the alluminum skins on there own to do your own doors, i think thats got to be a hell of a lot easier.

windows are coming from plastics 4 performance. im getting them in grey tint polycarbonate with mk1 sliders opening rear quarters and standard style rear.

IIRC they were £168 delivered.

im working on the other mini in my life today. it gets a bit neglected and also ragged during the week so i thought id do a bit of work to keep it happy!lol

i was bored last night and couldnt do any grinding because it was too late, so i got the piller drill out, and have drill lightweight holes in my pedal box and pedal arms, looks quality, just need to de-burr the holes.

it might be good that theres a 2 week lead time.... have you just ordered standard mk1 slidey windows? and have you just knocked the inner flange over to mount the chrome strip? If so, then you'll find that the mk3- window apertures are about 20mm taller than the standard mk1 hole.... Also, the overlap between the 2 needs to be slightly longer (i guesstimated 20mm again) as the hole is again slightly longer due to the height being bigger. I'm just doing that conversion myself and will have to get the windows custom made. (at some point)
