made the trianulated bits for my front subframe, to stop the frame flexing.
i also bought some drill bits for cutting out big circles but B&Q had sold out of the drill bit that goes in the middle so cant get that done

ive also just finished neatly cutting out the metal where the boot floor is going, so will trail fit that in a mo.
i also found a place that sell nice petrol tanks but have to resist these things now till after the paint is on!

I've always liked the old layland grey!
But people kept telling me, your making a fast n loud car, make the paint work reflect it... reason I've got orange...

i also got my front end delivered from curley on friday, im really impressed with it, seams a lot stronger than i thought it would be but still has a bit of give in it. i lines it up with my bonnet and arhes and it looks lush, cant wait to get it fitted.
i got a bit dissapointed as i was mucked about by the courier and i dint get it until nearly a week after i should of arrived, but they sorted it out in the end and even knocked of the carriage.
the coolest thing about it is if you catch it from some angles you can see the weave throught the gel coat

now i need to order my dash from them, going to wait till the paints on though.

ive nearly got all the bits to start building these up then, so thats something to do.
i also put in my minfins to be powder coated black as i thought the bare ally would be hard to keep clean, and the wheels will stand out more with black behind them.
im running out of things to do as its too cold to be out working on the car, i cant get the last bits done on the shell.
and i have no money to spend on parts till the end of the month :'(

whre do you weld when you seam weld (everywhere threre is a seam)
yep you got it. the most important bits are the towers and tie rod monuts.
as it goes i need to add some more triangulation to these when i get the frame back as i forgot before.

so modifications that i am now doing include tubbing the rear arches and letting in a full with baulkhead. creating frount and rear fire walls, and also creating a full weld in cage structue. im also going to get a carbon boot lid, and will be running with ap racing master cyliners with remote reserviors so i can run a curley carbon ram air system on my weber.
ive had a busy week end doing loads to the mini. i even found time to fit a induction kit to my mates focus rs!!
so being as pictures speak a thousand words...........

brackets for handbrake removed

filler neck hole welded up

i have fished the boot area by trimming the floor, seam welding the rear of the seat base, and trimming the floor to fit
