curley dash look very nice. it looks like it would fit over my bulkhead too. moneys tight at the moment though...

i also cut out some carbon circles that i will be using to block the air and heater vents in the inner wings.

I think this is my favourite project now, its not often we get to read about the sort of stuff that goes into building Miglias. Definitely interested to see what you can get the weight down to, especially with things like removing damper rubber dust covers, and the headlining rails! :(

reasonable idea :if your thinking of going lightweight mk1/2 minis had a hole in the middle of their rear bulkhead chop yours out as if they can do it ,do it in yours

mental idea: if your fitting a cage add more chube across the back and remove the rear bulkhead

cheers for the comments i really appreciate it.

i cant wait to see what weight it is jammy i think around 600kg is realistic as i am running full subframes and the cage is going to be very extensive. i was reading an old mini world the other day with that red minus with the 1460 in it and that was 540kg so that gives me something to compare it to.

m4m im not acctually going to go into the miglias there are so many really strict regulations i could never afford to do it! plus im going to be running a 1380, i just want it to be really fast out on the track and they are the fastest minis so who better to get the ideas from.

last night i finished rubbing down the dampers and also rubbed down the paint on the one i did the other night as i want happy with the slight sag in the paint, im going to leave them till the weather warms up a bit as i think it was the cold weather that made the paint sag.

i stripped my new altenator right down so i can polish the two alluminium bits of it, should look a bit nicer!

i also used a wire brush in the drill to clean up my door hinges so that they can be fitted to the doors.

tonight i finished of my carbon blanking plates for the air vents.

i also fitted the stanard cage back into the car so i could work out how much tube i need to buy, i need another 9 meters so in total i will be adding 16 meters of tube onto the cage! it should be a bit safer in there!

well i have had a busy day so far, i went to work a 6 till 10 then i popped round to the powder coaters and picked up my mini fins which i had done black and also my front subframe, they had even zinc coated it to stopped the rust which i a bonus but i now have to take some of this off to seam weld it, and i also need to get a special primer!

then i got home and did a bit of work on my brothers car, i fitted front hi los to it and also a set of 1.5 deg negative camber arms, the arms were straight forward but i came across a few shocking bits, the passenger side front mount bolts had not been tightened up snce it was rebuilt by the mini center and also the front subframe had been rebuilt with collasped front cones, which is why the front end looked so low! not very impressed as it meant i had to remove the upper arms in situe, not an easy job in an spi!

any way, ive also done some work to mine, i ground back the welds on the old filler neck hole, welded up the holes for the washer jets ( got a plan for these) and also grond back the old lip of the drivers sill and prepped the new sill to go on!
