Have you checked the car for alignment? It's probably a good idea since the subframe had moved the floor.

It'd be sad to see that lovely new front end let down because the car goes around corners by itself :(.

And also, how did you push the floor back? I'm interested for a friends Mini :-).

Nope we haven't but tracking etc is going to be done when the equipment comes back into work. That's the only reason why he still hasn't come home with me :(

I wasn't there when the floor was done but after removing the subframe mount a block of wood and persuasion device (posh name for a hammer :P) was used to knock it into shape. Came out quite good.

Hi mate, this is what I meant by 'orange peel'. It is sort of an uneven, bumpy textured paint surface, like an oranges skin. I was just wondering if the new paint that has gone on is nice and flat or has the same orange peel issue.

Nicholas is looking fantastic! :proud:

Ahh! The reason it is bumpy is cause previously the whole front panel was stone chipped. And it looks orange because of the sun. I'm not quite sure why it was done with stonechip that high up. This time round it is just the valance that is stonechipped and not the whole front panel :)

That makes sense! I wonder why it was stonechipped that high? Looks great though!

Beats me! Surely it isn't necessary. Looks much better without.

The tracking has been done with a piece of string and hasn't come out too bad at all, but getting the proppa gear back in at work tomorrow so will be done more accurately then and then i can drive him properly :D

Pic as i left work :)

Still needs to be cleaned on the outside! Going to have to spruce up the inside to get it looking half as nice cause its a bit of a mess atm :P

Nicholas is looking fantastic!

Just sat and read through the thread to catch up, he's certainly been through the wars.

Good to see him back up and running !

Well I was meant to be revising for an exam i have tomorrow but.................

He was ready to come home and ever since i finished work I have been tinkering with him :)

What the floors look like, not too shabby i don't think, line above top left mount was already there.

I thought I had some paint but didn't, well i did but it was metallic red high temperature paint but I had to cover the bare metal with something :P Will probably strip it and redo when i get the chance.
