A lovely project ive never noticed it before but i think it looks mint, well done, the mirrors look ace, smoothie boot lids i usually hate but yours suits the car and looks like youve put alot of effort into that alone

how much did the spray job cost you looks like a pro place?

and where you getting the carbon weave? looking for some for my car at mo just keep finding that stick on carbon sheet stuff or film :angry2:

good luck with the progress it looks good so far

well its bin a while since my last update, lets see...............

carpeted the interior

Posted Image

the carpet has been glued and stapled onto mdf. i've done it like that so i can use it everyday and throw stuff in the back!

reconditioned the rear brakes, with new shoes, pistons, braided hoses and a fitting kit. cleaned up the radius arms and back plates and gave them a coat of hammerite.

Posted Image

also reconditioned the brake servo, and gave that a lick of paint. started work on the loom (have to extend the wiring for the wing indicators if i want my front to flip!

Posted Image

me being slightly impaitent, i wanted to see how the car will look with deep dish wheels on it so turned around my 12" wellers (don't worry i am going to buy proper deep dish wheels!) did a few other bits as well. anyone know how to change my title? want it to say tahiti blue street racer or something similar, think 1989 mini something is a little un imaginative! next up date soon! (don't worry that front number plate is going in its proper place i was just seeing what it looks like!)

Everything looks spot on so far mate!! Lots of progress, cant wait to be finish touching mine!!

One thing though, can you not find another way of mounting the number plate? I hate it when people hang it off, looks un-thought-about in my opinion.

Good work!

cheers dude, i think it is a pearlesent tahiti blue, and the roof is just white! considering the ammount of whites there were i was looking for a pure white, and a nissan nirvana (i think) was it at the time so i said like that. you should see it in the flesh when the sun hits its, truly awesome!

righty ho, time to update again! although my mini might not be up to the engine spec of some of these bike engined cars, the rest is..........sort of. still to decied what to do in that area though!

got some ally minifins, much better than the standard steel ones!

Posted Image

also with the rear on a beam axle and coilovers i thought it was only sensible to put coilovers on the front! will get it corner weighted when its on the road.

Posted Image

adjustable arms coming soon but for now heres some more pics of me front. (don't know whats going on about the size of the pics, stupid photobucket!)

When you say £1000 for the sprayjob, is that oustide only? Or did they spray inside as well?

yep! for a grand they removed all the celly primer, etched primered the fiberglass bits, primered the whole car, sprayed it tahiti blue with a white roof, and laquered it. they even flattened and polished most of it, just need to take it to the to get teh arches flattened. oh it it was done inside and out
