What's to know?
Run the main power feed up in to the car at the front, wire the isolated inline somewher 'under the dash, under the seat, rear bin etc' Continue power feed in to the boot to the battery. :)

Make sure to use rubber gromets everytime the cable goes through metal.

to be honnest I dont think a modern alarm system would be any use in a mini. The car has so many leaks and air gaps that any preasure sensitive sensors would be useless...The only thing that might work might be a door switches and bonnet and boot switches. you would need a remote arming device. If you could link it to some sort of dead bolt central locking that would be a real deterent. but the damage that the thieving toe rags would cause trying to open the door would be hellish...Solenoid deadbolts are very cheap and could easily be wired to a reciever. But it would mean cutting into the doors and B pillers...

yeah i do like the sound of the cctv you can tap into anytime, its good piece of mind so you can see your cars still there but when if it does get stolen, the image quality didnt look good enough to ID the thief

Depends, the LED ones are awful. If you want a HD one then you prob cant stream it over the net or to your phone easily. Plus unless you count on them turning on the light which I doubt they will do, your stuck with the infrared type ones

When mine was nicked it had no security (foolish I know) it now has a combined alarm&imobilizer aswell as a few features that I wont discuss on a open forum. Also now there's always another vehicle parked behind it on the drive now which means they would need to get that out of the way first.

Mine was nicked relatively early in the night 9am ish when I asked my neighbours if they saw/heard anything they just said they thought it was me going out as its not unusual for me to be out at night, so thought nothing of it.

ive gotten a wheel clamp now.
Cant never have too much but it is a pain locking the thing up! sometimes i dont go out just because I cant be bothered to unlock it!
Wheel clamp, steering wheel lock, handbrake to gear lever lock, PLUS the usual.

Really thinking about a tracker....

short of chainging it to the ground (which I did think about lol.....)
