not but the engineers behind them are, hence why they are based here.

isnt it?

no car can be truely, "one nations" as parts are sourced from all over the world.
rollers are part built in germany before being shipped over to england to be finished.
thats a british company albeit owned by a german one.

granted we may not have global car makers anymore, but we still have a lot of world class engineers, dont think for one moment all of what this country learnt when it was a global car manufacturer, has been lost just because the companies arent around.

the skills still are around.

this is going a bit off track isn't it :P

couple of things to add, Red bulls are designed, developed and manufactured in Milton Keynes, yes the owners are Austrian, but it is British built.

The 'original' Bini was designed by Rover engineers. The design was then modified by BMW when they sold Rover (the rear suspension and engines)

lol 'Red bulls are designed, developed and manufactured in Milton Keynes' annnnd there engines are from where??? lol and i would say the engine is the main part of the car. anyway this is getting off track my POINT IS if this track were to be Built it should of been done in the hey day of British Motor Sport. Which we are very very far past. as there is pretty much no british car industry.

.................as there is pretty much no british car industry.

Although the British general public tend to think otherwise, Britain actually is still a major manufacturer and exporter of cars whether the companies here are foreign owned or not.
eg. Of the 2 Million New MINI's built over the last 10 years, more than 1.5 million have been exported from the UK.

Map of GB Car factory sites:
http://www.factorytour.co.uk/

As already said all cars including the classic Mini use component parts sourced from many other countries.

About 60 percent of the components of the current Mk2 New MINI built in Oxford come from suppliers based in the UK compared to 40 percent for the predecessor Mk1 model. Petrol engines for the current MINI come from Hams Hall Birmingham built in the UK, and most major sub-assemblies and pressings are from the Swindon factory.

Quote on the British Motorsport Industry:
"This country has a depth of expertise which you simply can't find elsewhere, and it's rooted in our long history of motorsport".
Dave Richards - boss of the highly successful racing firm Prodrive

1.5 million over 10 years???? do you really think thats alot of cars? we make less than China, USA, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Brazil, India, Spain, Mexico, France, Canada, Thialand, IRAN, and Russia. we Barely make more cars than the Czech republic and Turkey. LOL sooooo i think perhaps in the last 10 years over 700 Million cars have been built. which makes us around 0.21% of the worlds car industry. yep we are still major players thats for sure.......

infairnuss though thats only taking into account the BINI but even if we exported 1.3 million cars every year (which was our total last year) thats still less than 2% i think it works out around 1.66%.................which is not a Major player in the car industry. Open your eyes its not the 1950s anymore. Case closed.
